I called LFSC today to make a service appointment for next week and asked if they could give me a ride to the airport when I dropped off the car. It's like a 20-25 minute drive. I was shocked when I was told no ride but they would call me a taxi. Is this normal for a Ferrari dealer?

Even my local Honda and Chevy dealers offer rides when you drop a car off for service. The BMW dealer usually gives me a car to drive for the day. What's been your experience?

My dealer is 10-15 minutes away so they come by the house and pickup and drop the cars off.

Boardwalk shuttled me around in a Cayenne all day even in HORRIBLE traffic.

I say find someone else, and write a disapproval letter to management at your dealer

I've been debating whether to have my car serviced at LFSC or Continental. LFSC is much closer to my house (don't want to put more miles on than I need to) but the car has spent most of its life at Continental. I thought I would give LFSC a try with this because they claim to have done this particular job before and Continental had not.

Continental offered to drive me to the airport. LFSC offered to call me a taxi. Not a good way to start a relationship that would have earned them thousands of dollars over the life of this car and any future Ferrari's that I buy.

Just bought a 2006 Maserati Q'porte, needed some warranty work, Maserati of Cleveland drove an hour to drop off a new Jag XF to pick up my Maserati ( I didn't buy the Maserati from that dealer, either) However, when I first called, the guy said they could not do that, I called a day later and spoke to the manager who made it seem like they do it all the time.....maybe call and ask again....That really doesn't make sense

My dealer is a 3 hour drive away--what do you think?

Now, my service mechanic is only 20 minutes away.

I am 2.25 hours from the dealer. They have always given me a car to use for errands while I wait. They even let me keep it overnight twice.

Dealer usually gives me a car. Usually get a bentley flying spur speed when i drop the bentley off for servicing etc. last time I had the range rover at the shop they gave me an lr2. i would take my business elsewhere.

I spoke with someone else at the dealership and was told that they do not have the resources to drive me to the airport but they could help me make other arrangements. This is a 1/2 hour drive and would mean the beginning of a long-term relationship that would see them doing all the service on this and any other Ferrari I buy. Unbelievable.

And yes this is a real Ferrari dealer, not some little rinky dink shop. Lake Forest Sports Cars in Lake Forest, Illinios.

It has been a few years, but Scottsdale Ferrari would arrange for a town car service to shuttle me around to facilitate a service pick-up or drop-off.

Wow, Audi gives you a loaner or at the very least have an Enterprise rent car ready for you. Sheesh. If they "don't have the resources" that speaks volumes. Keep it moving, for if you were to have a problem with a service they may drop that same excuse.

It sounds like this deal is a no brainer.... you are the customer, and they aren't offering service..

To me, it is all about CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I am sure someone else would love to have and will appreciate your business.

That's pretty bad. Even my wife's Acura merits a loaner if the service is going to take more than 1/2 an hour.

Agree with the others here, take your bidness elsewhere. My exotic car folks, pick up and drop off my Ferrari and Bentley. My BMW dealer gives me a lowner BMW. Every Mercedes dealer I have used gives me a Mercedes loaner. Our first and second Audi dealer gave shuttled us to Enterprise (not good), but our current one gives us a loaner (good), which is why we changed to them.

I don't own a Ferrari, but to reiterate what has already been said, loaners, or at least a shuttle, should be standard. Heck, my Honda dealer loaner given to me was worth more than my car!

Which airport? ORD? ORD is 25 miles from LFSC and about 16 from Continental, so not entirely apples to apples. I would say realitsically from LFSC it is 30+ minutes each way, but think it would have been a nice way for them to help build a relationship. About what I would expect from LFSC.

Before the market got soft, they would not accept an order on a new car (as I had not previously purchased a number of new cars from them). They did however have a "used" 430 with 125 miles on it for $40K over MSRP.

As others have said, that's terrible customer service.

In Hong Kong dealer picks up and drops off car. They used to have two guys come in a company Ferrari or Maserati, then one guy will drive my car back to the dealership.

Last few years I've let my secretary handle all the service calls so I don't know if they still come in a Ferrari or not, but I always thought that was pretty cool.

I think you need to find another dealer who appreciates your business and understands that you have better things to do than to waste hours in sending your car in for service.
