When I turn off my Battery Cut Out Switch (under hood) my door jam lights remain illuminated. Other things (i.e. turn signals) shut off but the door jam lights stay on. Is this normal? I'm preparing to swap in a Scuding Smart EMT F1 pump relay which calls for shutting off power to the OEM relay prior to it's removal. Does turning off the Battery Cut Off Switch eliminate power to the F1 pump relay? Or does it still have power like the door jam lights? Or do I need to disconnect the battery? Or do I have a problem? I've gotta be sure before I start yanking out and plugging in relays. Thanks for listening.

Did you disconnect your battery charger?

The only thing which should be alive is the alarm siren. It has a backup battery.

I don't think there are any large capacitors in the electronics which would hold a charge for more than a few seconds.

FYI that cutoff switch disrupts the only ground the the battery. It does kill everything (unless as stated above, the chassis is being grounded by another means).

Speaking of batteries, I'm trying to find out how old mine is.

The only numbers I could find on it were "KB1B07". The brand is EXIDE ("Endurance Plus"). It doesn't seem to match normal battery codes.
