I could probably wait for a bunch of silly responses.... but I'll just answer your question. :)

The DECADES OLD leather in my '86 328 GTS smells SO GOOD, after all these years - that
it fills the whole garage with that lovely smell. It's hard to describe.... you just have to
    experience it.

The very LAST thing in the world I'd want to do "inside" that car would be to introduce
some "outside" or "fake" smell of ANY kind. I even worry about the leather smell
diminishing over the years... a silly thought, as it's almost 25 years old.

So no, at least for me, and I suspect for a LOT of F-car owners, there will not be
any Auto Zone "new car smell" trees inside my Ferrari during my lifetime.

It's the same in my Mondial. The smell of leather when you open the door is fantastic, would not want to mask it with anything.

The air freshener in mine is actuated by flipping the latches behind the driver and passengers heads , putting the big bit of fibreglass behind the seats and then driving REALLY fast.

    You betcha.

I really love the French Bordello smell in the TR.

In the 328 we just use 2 or 3 of those Christmas tree things hanging from the rearview. I find they are the best to cover up the smell of the old spilled beer.

OK.. now the silly response.. I lift my leg and pinch an air biscuit.. The aroma is very inviting and breathtaking.. You can almost slice it with a knife.. rich and full bodied with hints of blueberries and tabacco..

Sorry just could not help myself..

I have often thought if I got one of those power converters that plug into the cigarette lighter, then I could get some 'Glad Plug Ins' to cover up the smell of the greasy rags I store behind the seat.

And the faint smell of gas, oil and a wiff of burned break pad.

That is what SPORTS CARS are supposed to smell like.

Want anything else, DON'T buy a sports car.

I read some time ago here on F-Chat that someone collects leather scraps from their local upholstery shop and puts them under the seat to “freshen up” the leather smell, sounds like a good idea to me.
