Hey guys. Aside from the performance and suspension upgrades, the 1999-2002 Viper GTS ACR was equipped with 4-point belts and had the fog lights, sound system, and air conditioning removed to save weight.

However, every ACR I'v ever encountered has had a radio and air conditioning in it. So, was it an option to have these things put back in?

Another question to anyone who has driven both the standard and ACR models of the GTS - Obviously on-track the ACR is going to have the edge, but how much of the comfort (which wasn't too high to begin with in the GTS I drove) is lost because of this? Is the ACR noticeably less comfortable to drive around town than the GTS?

On a side note; the ACR's that don't have air con or a radio must be pure hell to drive in a city setting. I found the GTS to have quite alot of road-noise and got very hot, very quickly, on the inside. I assume the ACR would be a rumbling, loud, sauna of a car.

yes, those items could be optioned back onto the car.
not much difference in comfort since the acr shocks were adjustable.
the early acr's had koni's i believe and rattled. they then switched to another brand shock.

You aren't kidding! I have been dreaming of Viper ownership since I was a teenager. This past year I finally had a chance to drive one and...

I was completely miserable. Granted, I'm 6'3"/220lb. - but even little things like pedal placement was awkward.
