I wonder how many owners sold their 296 or are thinking of selling it?
One of the best F cars I have ever owned. Great build quality, drive experience, sound. 2024 GTB, no interest in selling.
I guess my question is what’s the point of the question? Do you own one? What are you trying to learn?
Yes I own a GTS but given quite a lot of negative feedback about the car and having tons for sale I was wondering what other owners are doing. I also like the car and will most probably get the VS if I get an allocation.
Who cares what anyone on here thinks if you’re enjoying the car? Most the detractors here are value obsessed. If Ferraris don’t appreciate or at the very least offer a cost free/risk free ownership perspective they have a 100+ post meltdown.
So you rely on strangers comments to decide what you will do with your car or if you should like it or not?? As others have said, who cares what anyone else thinks. The only opinion that matters is your own.
Not at all, just wondering what others were doing / thinking. Looks like most owners like the car which I agree on.
I think that's the way used by Ferrari to attract additional customers (chasing people looking for financial investment even on standard range cars, rather than just people wanting to enjoy nice cars) that is now backfiring. I would find it only amusing if it had no impact on the product definition.
Don’t think it’s thin skinned. I think it’s bored hearing the same thing from the same users that keep posting the obvious. (No offense to anyone in particular) Unless you live under a rock, or are brand new to the car buying experience, most every car depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot. Some depreciate a small amount (Porsche 911), some depreciate a huge amount (Aston Martins) and most depreciate somewhere in between. Bottom line, the main people that really care, are the people that sit on the sidelines and like to comment. My new AMG GT has depreciated probably 50k since I bought it in April, my 296 has deprecated even more, my 992.2 probably not at all. I could care less about any of the above as I don’t buy them as an investment and I don’t but them with the expectation of not losing money. I buy them to enjoy and if I lose a little, great. if I lose a lot than so be it. Buying and collecting cars is a hobby/passion. Some people like to collect cars, other people have different hobbies. A good buddy of mine spends a minimum of 50k a year going on ski trips. In the last 10 years that’s well over 500k with no return. Do I sit there and comment how much he has wasted? Absolutely not, that’s his passion. Another buddy will only stay at the four seasons wherever he goes. Do I sit there and comment how much money he is losing by not staying at a Marriott. Absolutely not, that’s what he likes to spend his money on. Im at a loss why people obsess about posting how much any car loses value. What does that accomplish. It’s stating the obvious. I don’t think anyone will disagree that modern Ferraris are losing value much greater than in the past. The 296, SF90, Roma all lose a ton of money. What else is there to discuss on that subject?
Thin skinned lol. It’s not that at all. Anyone can go on auto trader and look at values we don’t need hundreds of posts about it. Need more pointing out how great this car is to drive. Or not great, if an owner feels that way.
A member here posted a few weeks back that no one feels sorry for a guy losing money on a Ferrari. And if you are at a gas station and someone comes up and goes “wow a Ferrari what’s that like to drive?” Imagine responding “I’m down $100k in value on it…” the value discussions are as stupid as that response would be. We’re here to discuss a silly passion that’s pretty damn expensive and the people that can afford it can certainly find far better uses of our money from a financial ROI standpoint. But that’s not the point. This isn’t an investment forum. It’s a car forum.
I think for many- it’s easier to justify owning multiple cars if the depreciation is light or non existent. I own many cars but not as many as some here and in if the depreciation was heavier my collection would be smaller.
