I heard quite a lot that the original color of Ferrari is yellow. Does that proceed? What do you think about yellow Ferrari s ? And this yellow 308?

There is no such thing as an original color for Ferrari, although Red could ne seen as having a slight edge, because italian Racing cars were painted red; which was in the thirties and forties a darker shade than the one we know today.
But even red was not an official or original color for road Ferraris, which could ne in any color.
One of thèse is of course yellow; one shade of yellow is the official color of the town of Modena, hence the Name "Giallo Modena". This Is the yellow found on the Ferrari badge; it Is no more an "official color" than red.
Another shade of yellow often found on Ferraris is "Giallo fly", which was choosen in 1965 for the then-knew 275GTB by Fiamma Breschi, the widow of Luigi Musso.

I love yellow on 308s. The more I see them, the more I like them.

Don't like yellow on any car and hate the ones where everything else on the car has to be yellow and black. Ugh

    I've seen a F430 like this also.

Yellow was also the national racing color of Belgium. Jacques Swatters was the Belgian Ferrari importer and a racer as well, so you see quite a few Ferraris in yellow.

All the post are what I have heard over the years. Modena City colour is yellow, Belgium national racing team colour was yellow. My interpretation of Fly yellow is that in summer all the flies and bugs are attracted to the yellow colour! So when I restored my gt4 as my mother is Belgium and I was stationed nr Modena many yrs ago when in RAF. I chose yellow and I have been happy ever since and like yellow cars. Though my Aston is green though!

    That's not strictly true!

Enzo Ferrari's first car, the Auto Avio Costruzioni 815, was painted red (albeit a dark shade of red), and the first official Ferrari, the 125 S, was produced in red, so the original colour of Ferrari is red.

I believe Fly is named for a design studio that existed in Italy at the time. At least that's what my foggy memory is telling me. :)

I remember a yellow prototype fcar finishing the daytona24 in Maybe 94? The others were busted maybe around hour 12 so I thought it was pretty cool the less funded fcar team actually finished the race. (Of course a yellow Kremer pcar won it-it was a pretty bad ass car!).

Yellow def belongs on fcars-I dig red, but I really dig yellow also. Funny thing is it seems like some folks will consider any color but yellow-just an observation-but I don't really know what's behind it. Maybe they think it's a 'chick' color-either way I don't get it. Get the car you want-

That is an excellent picture. The car looks great with a great stance and the angle is just right. And I happen to really like some cars in yellow. Other cars it doesn't work. Generally sports cars work in yellow, other cars don't. 308 in yellow? YES! Mercedes S-Class in yellow? No, not at all.

I think that Giallo Fly has no affiliation with the FLY Studio of Caliri and Marmiroli, that appeared later than the first Giallo Fly car.

The yellow (with blue) is the official city of Modena color, the color that Enzo Ferrari added to WWI Air force fighter hero Francesco Baracca emblem.

The prancing horse is still the emblem of 4th Fighter Wing (stormo caccia) of Italian Air force, based in Grosseto, now equipped with the Eurofighter Typhoon.

Cheers lads! It was the only time the other half has driven the Ferrari so took a picture as evidence that there were no scratches before she drove it.
Andrew you are right JP is gate guardian @ Cranwell just down the road from where I live. I was at Church Fenton when they were withdrawn from service but did get a few flight in them before Tucano's. You have a great selection of vehicles.

Yup, me too. I like yellow, but I didn't seek out a yellow car. I was looking for a 308 qv and color wasn't really important. It could have red or prunga, didn't matter that much to me.

Black always works. You have to wash them regularly but man they look good right after you do. also, any car that needs some 'help' (lotus Europa comes To mind-sorry lotus fans) is going to only look better in black
