    To my astonishment I discovered that yes, there is in fact a real world Gumball Rally!!! Not just a movie!!! It's got exotic cars like Ferrari's etc, so it made me wonder if anyone here has participated or knows of anyone who has. What's it like? How do you win?

    you dont "win" gumball. its a rally (for legal reasons). they dont time you from point A to point B.

    they give awards to the driver that shows the most "gumball spirit"... made it through repairs, jails.. whatever it takes

    I dont really "know" the guy but I met this guy named Reza (or something like that) during the players run and he was like the main guy in the Gumball video I saw, he was driving a 360 in both!

    A long time ago, there was a guy I knew who tried it. He bought a Countach with a matching helicopter to spot cops.

    His car broke down less than 500 miles out of LA.

    Here's some pics I took at the Bullrun kick-off in June. They had a party the night before at my hotel, so I had all of these cars in the parking garage for 2-3 days beforehand. Pretty fun.. Paris Hilton was the flag girl.

    I have talked with Reza. We traded cards at a local meet. he was driving a black 360 then.

    Also, the Teckademics crew, of which the premier member, Dado, has taken part in several races. not sure if it was the Gumball, but I think it was.

    Dado did the Gumball and the Players Run. I think he did the Gumball in Europe too. I have not been on DTM in a while, it was fun reading some of the stories about them in the rallies.

    Who are the "Tekademics" guys? I rented their DVD of the gumball thing. The funniest story was the guy in the bimmer who lost a rim and went to a dealership late at night to rip one off... crazy times.

    I didn't realize there were no "winners" in the Gumball, no wonder the Ultimate was necessary.

    it's really hyped to be more than it is. but if you have money to burn it's still a good time.

    Yeah, they're pretty famous actually.. they were most recently on an epsiode of Nip/Tuck and made the rounds on some of the daytime talk shows. Pretty funny that they were just ambling around Hollywood Blvd that day by chance.
