I just learned that our Power Steering Oil Cap and F1 hydraulic oil reservoir cap is the same as my wife's 2010 BMW 328i Power Steering Cap.

So in case your original Ferrari P/S Cap starts to leak, cracked or you just want a new one - no need to buy the expensive Ferrari power steering oil cap and pay $490.00. Just buy the BMW one and switch the aluminum top.

Ferrari Part Number: 185353. Cost ~$500.00
BMW Part Number: 32416851332. Cost ~$25.00!

You can find them in eBay for $25.00 brand new OE or even less for OEM. Just search for the BMW part number I listed above and you will see all kinds of sellers in eBay.

Just pop the aluminum Ferrari top off. Toss the original platic cap in the garbage can, clean both surfaces really well, then glue the Ferrari Aluminum top to the new BMW Power steering cap using JB Weld and you are good to go!

Thought I'd share and I hope this helps some of you.

    Thanks everyone!

I thought there is really no need to spend big bucks when learn there are other options out there that are much less expensive and just as good as the original ones. And I am sharing kind of guy so I thought I'd post here and share what I learn.

    Glad I can help.

Great thread Dan! Usually the only thing that wears on the PS caps on ZF reservoirs is the o-ring seal. You can order those separately from independent parts houses. I've never had a cap go bad on my BMW or Ferrari, but have had the seals shrink or collapse from age and start leaking. The seals are $2.39. Part number is 32411128333 BMW and Ferrari have been using the same PS reservoirs for years (don't count on it always being the case, there are always exceptions, so check carefully)
BTW, there is a "BMW tax" just like the "Ferrari tax". You can buy the ZF oem cap for less than the BMW packaged one (they are the same). Same part number: 32411128332
get it here for $4.33 Auto Parts at AutohausAZ - OEM Auto Parts - Discount Replacement Parts, Resources and Car Care Tips Just understand the ZF cap does NOT include the O-ring. So just under $7 for the cap and O-ring, versus $22.21 for the BMW packaged one. Free shipping on orders over $65. I buy all my BMW stuff there...great service, fast shipping.

    Hi Alan,

The fluid level markings are the same.

They are the same exact cap without the Ferrari aluminum top.

BTW, I forgot to mention when you buy the BMW OE cap it will usually have the BMW logo on top, where the ZF oem cap will just have the ZF logo. Not a huge deal either way, as on the later Ferraris, you are gluing it to the factory Ferrari aluminum cap. But for earlier cars, like the F355, which don't have the aluminum cap, you probably don't want a BMW logo on the plastic cap. ;)
