Here you go for sharing. ‘Been wanting to do this for about a year now….

The usual disclaimer, I am posting for sharing. I am not an expert nor claiming this is the complete procedure or the best way to do this. Just thought I’d share what I learned hoping that the information here can help others.

Note: For those not aware, Ferrari calls the roof top Capote (long coat in English) Roof.

    Situation:

    · Roof top is starting to squeak during closing and opening procedure. My car is 2006 so its definitely time to lube the hinges.

    · Rubber parts that makes contact with each other for tight water seal is starting to bind up due to rubber parts being too dry for smooth sliding.

    Products used:
    1) WD-40 Specialist White Lithium Grease Spray - Metal on Metal Lubricant and Corrosion Inhibitor:
“Ideal for metal-to-metal applications that require heavy-duty lubrication and protection against rust and corrosion

Sprays on easily with a thick, protective coating for auto hinges, gears, sprockets, latches, door tracks, pulleys, cables, and more"

I like this stuff as its white in color so it wont stain the leather seats in case of any spray run off. There is also no foul smell emitted even after numerous sprays.

    2) Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease:
I use this to apply grease to rubber parts so that it will slide easily and rubber parts wont dry out.
You can find both of the above at Amazon.

    Step by step procedures attached.

    Squeaks all gone!

Hope this helps some of you.
