For what it is worth I thought I would post this. My 206 Dino has been in unheated storage in central oregon for one year. Actually, in my friends 'garage'. We are building and I had no place for it. I went over to pick it up and drive it to our new place. I took a battery charger, etc, as necessary after a undriven period such as this. Removed the spare to get to the battery, and then said, "What the hell, give it a turn." Turned on the ignition, fuel pump pumped away, pumped the throttle a few times and hit the starter. Damned if it didn't start without a hitch and settled into a smooth idle after a couple of minutes. Put the spare back in, and drove it to its new home with no problems. An amazing car, fun and reliable!

Don't forget to lubricate the clutch cable linkage as it tends to get sticky over time. I've heard there are ball bearing type rollers inside it (mike at T Rutlands)

playdr, very fun, very reliable, and worth the work and expense to keep her in shape. There can't be too many 206's around, I'd like to see her one day as my 246 and I are in eastern WA.

As regards to the clutch cable, I haven't had any problems with it sticking but will look into lubrication. I assume one has to remove it to do so. Actually I remember that was one of the items replaced when I had the transmission overhauled in the early nineties. Hi Gary48, eastern WA isn't that far from the Bend area of Oregon, unless you are in northeastern WA. Which is it? We might manage a mutual drive and meet somewhere.

Nope, no need to remove it - from the front compartment area (generally, near the fuse boxes) just slide the clutch cable boot back and put several drops of good lube on it then work it down - and repeat.
I prefer tri-flow lubricant in the non-aerosol bottle.

Tom, the S/N is 00160. I'll try and get some pictures of in the next few days. We are finally moving into our new house after a year in our barn/tack room. Things are a bit discombobulated at present.
