I have, via my Local Ferrari Independent garage been put on to a suppler of differentials made specially for the Testarossa / 512 / 365 that they highly recommend.

I talked to the manufacturer last Friday. The differentials are complete except for bearings. That is to say, they include the internal gears and limited slip clutches. The supplier will set up the clutch as required, e.g. as normal for the road right up to full race settings.
The diff casings are bolted together so no welds to give way and the walls of the diff are thicker than the standard so much stronger in every way as far as I can see.
This differential is used in both road cars and racing Testarossa over here in Europe so its pretty well recommended. All that is needed is to fit the bearing, install in the gearbox and shim as per the manual.

Both Mel and I are going to put an order in for a unit each in the next couple of days, there is a 6 week delivery.

The cost is is £900 and may be less. I read the paperwork as £750 so I am waiting for final confirmation tomorrow. I will let you know as soon as I get the confirmation.

If anyone else is interested in adding to the order please let me know.

I think this diff also fits the 365BB.

The UK diff is made from EN24 BILLET steel and fully NC machined, not cast at all! I have the engineering and manufacturing drawings.
The diff comes complete with new (readily available) internal gears and clutches. The limited slip diff used cams and so is variable while driving from slip under little or no power/turning to being almost locked under full power or one wheel being light. The LSD can, unlike the standard Testarossa / 512 diff, be set to you own liking before fitting.

I can't see why a diff. from some racing specialty unit could not be adapted also. The one Neuman sells is a bolt in unit that I think uses Ferrari LSD internals, It looks like a hi quality unit. But there are other performance diffs that use different components in there LSD. Does any body have any dimensions on the Stock Ferrari diff?

Ago that is just what the Diff available in the UK is. Based on a racing 512M but set up for normal road use and semi affordable. :)

Sounds like a Torsen diff which is found in ford rangers so parts would be easy to get. Need to see pics to know for sure. My approach was to use the OEM parts plug and play but much better then OEM and less expensive. Lets see pics of the unit itself im sure you have seen what it looks like.

I'm afraid I have no idea about a Torsen diff but I do know all the internals are readily available in the UK, I recall the supplier mentioned Jaguar and GT40 parts.
The supplier has promised me he will provide photos before "The new year" :(
I will post as soon as available.

There are no promises but you may well get yours through production a little earlier as you are in (desperate) need. :)

Okay, there is now clarification on the price here in the UK.

The complete diff, ready to drop in with only shimming needed, is £850 :D.
Complete with all new internal gears and LSD clutch plates etc.

    Fit, shim and drive :D
Shipping to the US is not expensive and the diff comes with a Lifetime Warranty apart from fair wear and tear!
    Now that must be good!

Wow! This seems to be too good to be true! Complete Diff with only shimming needed? With liftetime warranty? Nothing else needed? And the price? Is there at least a limited production? ;)

    Cheers

    Referring to post #17,
The first picture is a cut-away of the diff, and it appears to be a welded construction diff just like the original boxer/TR units.
The second and third pictures are not the same units as the first picture.

Any updates, as I’d like to see the actual unit for a Boxer or TR, and not some pics of a sort of the same thing unit…

We too .... it is almost ready ... but not yet :)

Pic #1 is only to illustrate what is all inside a diff ...

The final one will most probably look like #2 and #3.

As said ... we will keep you all posted; more info after next weekend .... (..> 15th of Jan) or the week after that.
