So as the titel says my question is: "is there a difference between the 575 and the 575 maranello?" thanks Fenzo
The "M" on the end of 575M doesn't stand for Maranello, it stands for the Italian word than means modified.
Upgraded suspension and brakes, IIRC... Maybe a few more horsepower.......the last edition of that model.
Modifica. I believe they called them 575M's in 04 (and the very limited '05s). I also think they upgraded the F1 system in the car (software probably).
so basicly the same car but the M has some minor modifications done? and do you see the difference on the outside (besides with the badge)? thanks
The 575 IS the 575M. There was no 575 without the M. The M stands for 'modificato" refering to the modification of the 550 into the 575M. There was a version of the 575M offered with the HGTC package which was primarily Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCB's) and some suspension differences, along with different wheels (19 inch versus the standard 18 inch wheel).
What is that tiny hood scoop for? A friend just bought a 2004 575M but it doesn't have that tiny hood scoop. http://www.ferrariofseattle.com/inventory/details.aspx?ID=32
The actual Italian word is "modificato" or "modificata" (depending on the gender of the noun it is referring to). That scoop is interesting - never noticed it before. Would also love to know what it's purpose is. Onno
I believe the Superamerica is in a different category but the 'last' of the series and does not have that left hand scoop
The scoop that you are referring to might be that on the left rear fender there is a scoop for the Transaxle cooling radiator. It is only on the left side.
Keen eye! Kieran was only supposing...and that led us down a trail of imagination Dang, We've got great imaginations!
Thank you, I never noticed that! Now that I look again, I can see it. Here's another pic of the car, I think its a fellow FChatter's... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm sorry I should have said this: Its the warp level boost guage. Its on the passenger side because the power is so intense the driver must focus all his attention on keeping the car pointed straight and can't be bothered by gauges.
Hey that's my car! Nice to see it appearing again in these pages I can confirm there's no additional scoop.
I remember drooling over your pics late last year, Dan. She's a beauty! Thankfully my 550 has now given me something to forget about yours Onno
