I need to know what are the model year differences between a 2006 and a 2007 F430 Spyder?

Any changes to the F1 Tranny? Firmware/software updates?
Any recalls or service notices to look out for?

Thanks in asvance. I am posting this for a friend who is trying to decide between a 06 and 07 F430.

same car with a few additional options available in '07 (alcantara, CF intake, BOSE, etc.) and the battery charger is standard on late '07+ cars.

So is it just a software upgrade from 06 and 07?

IS the F1 control module different? ...or is it just the software?

So I am assuming that the F1 from an 06 just needs to be updated by the dealership..correct?

    Thanks,
    Uzy

Do you know exactly what was changed/upgraded...?

And, only for what it's worth, Stef430 is right: the last Ferrari convertible to be referred to as a "Spyder" was the Daytona. Every subsequent convertible has been called a "Spider".

Having an '06 430 spider, I am very curious as to the '07 software. Is it an upgrade I can get, and if so, what is the difference?

    Thanks!

I thought it was spider because there is no Y in the Italian alphabet

I moved from an '06 F430 to an '07 and asked my service manager specifically about F1 updates. He said there are none on the base car. Of course the Scuderia has significant changes to F1 system but these aren't applicable to F430.

Just spoke with the manager of my Ferrari dealer and he said there are no differences in software for the base 430 Spider in 08/07 vs. any other year. I have an 08 coming in a few months.

A friend of mine had a new 05 F430 Spider and a new 07 F430 Spider, both F1. He said he could easily tell that the 07 shifted smoother and faster.

Do a search on here for "spyder" and the origin of the word. It's interesting, and will explain why, despite having an alphabet without a Y, Ferrari still called convertibles spyders.

Was it the manager or the service manager...? The service manager has to know stuff like that; the manager just has to know how to manage.

Anecdotal evidence is often of little value. I drove an 05 F1 Coupe and could not tell any difference between it and my 07 F1 Coupe.
