My dealer tells me for something really unusual, I could get the factory to do a diamond weave pattern on my leather rood headliner, rather than get the usual plain leather. I dont see it on the options list but he assures me it is available as he has visited the factory recently and was told by Ferrari that it is available on a special request basis. Does anyone have any pics of this diamond weave pattern? Cheers..

not the same thing, but when i ordered my 360, i wanted an alcantara dash, which isn't a "normal" option. the factory supplied prices, i ended up not getting it as i changed my color choices and it wouldn't look good, but for a price....

I wonder if your dealer is referring to the diamond pattern 'quilted' leather known as the 250 leather package as typically used on the 550/575 rear shelf and headliner?

Yes, i believe u may be right. He did mention a quilted look. Do you think it will look right on a 430?

Personally I find this better suited for the 599 and 612.

yeah, that would be cool.. then you could get one of those little tiny disco balls and hang up there also.. maybe rig up some red, green, blue tiny LED's to shine on it while you drive.

    bow-chia-bow-wow...

I like it, I say do it.. it would be totally groovy man :)

Jas Lally, a fellow f-chatter has a Ferrari with the diamond weave pattern for the headliner. Just recently he had posted a picture on one of the threads.

It looks great, and your dealer is right -- the factory can do it for you. I had an alcantara headliner put in my F430 coupe and it looked fantastic, I regret not having it quilted. I think beige alacantara with black stitching would've been just the ticket. Don't worry what others think, if you think it'll be good -- go for it!

It's not too late. There are some very fine upholstery/leather trim shops that can duplicate the factory's leather or alcantara work to the stitch.

Not yet. I'm still trying to figure out what my next track-day car will be...Ariel Atom or Lotus Exige S (with a few mods).

haha Ray...I like your style! Yes, think I will go for it. At least 98% of the ferraris in my areas doesnt have it, so at least mine will be unique and different. Alcantara? Now that's a thought too...Will try to search for some pixs of this Diamond Weave pattern if I can...Thanks for your great comments everyone..cheers.

I've seen it on the 550 rear shelf and it looks nice. It might look cool on the roof too, although myself I like just the normal [smooth] leather roof. I have the leather roof on my 360 and feel it's a very nice option. Is the diamond pattern puffy or flat? I thought on the 550 rear shelf, they stuffed it a bit to make the diamonds pop out a little? It's been so long since I have seen one, I don't remember how it looks exactly.

Definitely get the leather on the roof though - whether you go with the diamond pattern or just the normal smooth leather - it really upgrades the feeling of the interior.

and, of course, I think the mini disco ball would be a big hit with the chicks :)

If you are going to special order that (which you certainly can), I suggest you do the seats the same way, just the center portion of the seats where you would normally have the Daytona trim, and then also the rear bench. This way, it looks complete.

the quilted headliner you speak of does exist. i ordered it on my 2003 360 F1. i am not sure of the price because it appeared under special options, as well as some other options. however, take caution, as it takes time and delays production. i speced my car in October 2002 and didn't receive it until November 2003...i was told this delayed the production process!
