For those of you that haven't been. Just a heads up there closed on Mondays. Every once in a while you can find some great deals.

Nice to see some new models at least. Never seen a 348 there.

Went up there today and took advantage of holiday discounts, aka 50 percent off everything. I snagged up 3 1:18 Elites: yellow 348 TB, silver 250 #14 from Le Mans '61, and a black 599 GTO.

They had some other 1:18s, including the green Dino, gold 410 Superamerica, red 348, black FXX, 512 S, and a black Dino GT4. As far as 1:43s, they had a slew of F1 cars (312 T, F1-2000, F2001, and F138), some road-going cars (silver 365 GT 2+2, 212 Inter), and a few 430 Challenge/GT cars, among others. They were only $20 each.

They were for the 22-24 only. And they closed at 2 today.

No 1:18 F1s, just 1:43. Normal prices for 1:18 Elites are $100 usually. They were $50 after discount. 1:43s are usually $40, $20 after discount.

I was a good man-child this year (I think) so I picked this up for myself when I was shopping for the toy run. about 50% off with my Mattel membership & other discounts. $53.00 including tax.

    Love it!!

I went to their website looking for the free membership information and I am very surprised the application is not an 'online process' but a download and then you bring your application to your local Mattel outlet, I find that rather odd and Houston does not have an outlet.

That's because it is a true factory outlet. The store is housed in one little corner of their MASSIVE Fort Worth distribution center. You have to know it's there, or you'd never find it. It doesn't even have a sign out front.

Unlike all the "factory outlets" that pop up along interstates that really just sell cheaper, lower quality versions with brand names slapped on them, these really are factory overruns, unclaimed orders, and good product with damaged packaging.

That does not answer my question though regarding membership, can I fill out the application and mail it in as I am not driving to Ft.Worth just to drop off my application.

They most likely won't be open until a couple of weeks after the new year, the outlet store closes for their yearly inventory. Depends on how much of their product was cleared out for the holidays. I'll still make a trip out there just to check & make sure.

Good chance there were. They had a couple of them when I was up there buying what I posted above.

Probably not simply because I have never dealt with factory outlets but I would appreciate some help.

    LMAO!

Why would you obsess about a "membership" in a club that you can't use? They don't do mail order, you have to be there in person to buy something. That's why they tell you to drop off the membership form in person. They'll send you coupons that you can use when you're there IN PERSON. Trying to join from 300 miles away makes no sense. Are you going to drive that far to save $20 on a toy?

First off I am not obsessing and I did not know this and I stated previously that I had never dealt with a factory outlet. Thanks for the info but you could have left out your drama queen antics.

It's been a couple of months since my last visit to the MTS so I picked up a 1/18 599 GTO for $45 today (green tag, damaged box but looks more like minimal shelf wear) also spotted a this FF sitting in the case, at that price it will be there for a while. Inventory on Ferraris is extremely thin but will most likely boost up a bit before the holiday months so I was told, we shall see.

Look back at the early posts in this thread, we were buying cars for less than $15, regularly.....

Yeah, but they weren't the elite series either.

Call it nostalgia but it warms my heart that this thread still exists :D
