And someone said $750k? Do we know engine spec? This is absolutely classically beautiful...tough choice for me with Aston’s RB003 Sent from my 16M
watched it drive goodwood and didnt like its looks as much as in photos here. might be one of the cars that need be seen in person to judge
I can't stop looking at this car! Saw it for the first time last night when checking-out YouTube videos from the FOS. My jaw dropped when I saw it!! Impossible good looks representing everything I wish still existed in the exotics of today!
where did jim reply? he cant complain too much since his was a one off for himself and not to sell to customers. different thing...
Kinda like ERA getting ticked at Superformance for knocking-off the Cobra? "Somebody ripped off the thing I ripped-off" - Cheech, of same and Chong. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzqNUAThVWb/?igshid=lp1zwr29bp2t They're both cool tributes, and Jim involved the right players and ingredients - and so it's a Ferrari (and the one that kick-started the SP program?) - tough to be too bummed about any subsequent efforts, would guess.
boo hoo Glickenhaus is unsettled because this car, the P72, is a better ... much better, much sexier, much-better-proportioned ... modern interpretation of the lovely P4? I'm shocked. Shocked i tell ya ... How long before he gets lawyers involved
That car is stunning. In my opinion, I would have gone with a more normal exhaust, and maybe toned down the rose gold accents just a bit, but overall if it has a halfway decent power train and comes in at $700-800k price point I would think they could sell all 72 copies they claim to intend to produce.
ive seen p4/5 several times in person and its literally perfect. absolutely gorgeous. I would've preferred and open top version but that's about it.
As per Jim on Facebook: Due to the increasing cascade of FB posts like this: "Nah, I don’t see any similarities, LOL." and inquires from the 4TH Estate here's my response. They put tracing paper over our P 3/4, pasted on much of our P 4/5, stole an interior from Horacio, pumped it up like a Vargas Girl and turned it into Anime. I see Koons not Caravaggio... Feel free to share this post. I see what he means but they're both homages to earlier cars.
top gear has more chassis pics: https://www.topgear.com/car-news/first-look/de-tomaso-back-meet-p72-supercar
I think the design is blown up like a cartoon. It even looks non-functional to a degree. The clown corners on the front look hard to see over. Look at the top picture. I think it's a study in how to remove all the "sexy" from a curvy shape. Image Unavailable, Please Login
^^^ full disclosure, with complete sincerity ... Cartoon-esque car forms actually appeal to me! I am seriously not joking ... the latest Viper (steam-roller wide rear tires, almost a hint of clown-shoe shape), the Hot Wheels COPO Camaro, anything with a hint of Speed Racer's Mach 5 ... these are (quite honestly) a few of my favorite things Perhaps that's (partly) why i fell in love at first sight with this beautiful P72. However, i do also consider it to be extremely sexy ...
I had a model car as kid that looked like this.I think the basic shape mimicks that model which was a special ferrari one off on a p4 chassis, I laso see some Alafa T33 in the sideview, anopther winnign shape. The chasis indicates it will be light too, which is way preferable to overweight and overpowered.. To me the car looks gorgeous, excatly what Iwant in sportscar,(my only possible critique is the interior looks a bit overworught) too bad there are only 72 and over 1mill.
You can buy two and have a change left from the SCG003sc price. Ferrari V12 engine in stead of a C A Honda V6
I've always been a Viper guy. Have had several and currently have a gen 2 ACR. I get odd cars. I just don't get the P72. If they were going to go retro I would have expected an angle car. To each their own. Not for me.
