I've been thinking about either an '11/'12 DBS or a '15/'16 Vanquish, but there is little to no difference price-wise between them- can anyone explain why ? I have watched some videos and done some cursory research vis a vis the differences in the cars themselves, but have yet to find anything explaining the [relative] parity in pricing.

    Any input appreciated.

The DBS is holding its value relative to other AM models...

I personally would choose s DBS with a stick shift. Great car and very likely to hold its value and possibly appreciate at some point.

Open to that idea, but haven't been able to find an '11 or '12 with a stick.

    Adamas…...My thoughts.
The DBS is wonderful "BUT" on an older platform.....
The "MODERN " Vanquish is more updated.
As you may know I've had MANY of them and even DRIVEN my 2004 Vanquish from New York to ALaska and back ! in 10 days!
Book is for sale on AMAZON.....
I personally would go biting my lip for the Vanquish , its a good running and updated transmission.
The DBS will have a niche but IMHO is starting to look a bit dated and kit car ish….IMHO.
Good luck both are GREAT drivers...…...mechanically the newer Vank will be less headache.

I traded my 2011 DBS for a 2014 Vanquish today for the above reasons.
I used to have a manual DBS in Casino Royale. My current DBS is autotrans and it was feeling a bit dated.
I test drove the Vanquish and everything felt a bit more advanced:
Sleeker design (nice rear One-77 like tail lights), more polished interior with updated tech (still a bit antiquated), >50+ HP which was quite noticeable.... very happy thus far.
I traded my DBS + about $25k for the Vanquish.

    Beautiful- congratulations.

I'm still struggling to get my head around how close the DBS is to the Vanquish in pricing. I know the 14s are softer, as they have the older 7 speed transmission, but they're still a lot closer than I thought they'd be. I actually prefer the interior of the DBS to that of the Vanquish- I think the DBS' interior looks more bespoke and expensive.

Either way, they are both beautiful cars that sound amazing- now to decide which to get ....

14 has the 6 speed and the 15 and newer have the 8 speed. I thought I wanted a 15 for that reason, but got a 14 because it had all the options i wanted. Silver Fox, 177 steering wheel, chain mail stitching, exposed carbon roof and umbrella. I didn't really consider DBS because i think Vanquish is such a beautiful car inside and out.

Mike, I totally get it... you can’t go wrong with the DBS, and I understand how you appreciate the classic design with the knobs and fascia and such.
For me it came to wanting a slightly more updated design and power.
If you appreciate the DBS design both inside and out, it is a fantastic car!

Here is a thread I posted with some more details between the two:
