^ those bumpers are also too high. lower part of bumper is very close to sitting on the lower grill portion.

Perhaps you are correct and they are a bit too high. Ah, the beauty of hand-made cars...

I've personally seen at least three different front bumper support structure configurations just in pop-up headlight examples and based on detailed observations, believe all having been O.E. construction. Each provided different location for the bumpers AND all were clearly designed to accomodate headlight "bucket" movement. Haven't had a chance for in-depth study of plexi-nose chassis and/or space-frame structure, but wouldnt be surprised to find bumper support struture different than all others.

This being a UK car it would have had side lights attached to the top of the bumpers when it was new [ as per photo below]. There is no way they would have fitted with the bumpers how they are now. I can only guess they have updated one of the head lights to have a side light in it, so they could remove the rectangular side lights. I must admit they do look better fitted in the slot in the wing though.

Another detail question for the experts if I may, I've seen some Daytonas with open gear lever gates and some where
they are upholstered in leather and enclosed within the tunnel, was this a model year thing or owner option perhaps?

    Hi Mike.
It was for RHD cars only.
Some RHD cars cars have had them removed now though.

    Not really sure Mike.
They may have thought that it looked a little crude, with the gate uncovered for the RHD market. The gear lever had to be cranked over to the right on RHD cars but that would not make it necessary to cover up the gate.

I have just checked my records, when the car came back from California it had the full amber front indicators, the bumpers were the same as now. It now has white and amber, so the side lights must have been put in with the indicators.

Here is the rear view of the Celeste blu met. car and some how my wife sneaked in the photo, and she said I only take photos of cars. Notice the dirty hand prints on her dress! No comments about the big rear please!

Mike excuse my ignorance but what is a Vetro?

Hi Grant, Vetro is short for Vetroresina, an Italian word for fibreglass used to describe those rare early 308's.
