What's the best website to follow the race live? I like to look at the stats and standings during commercials. I do this during NFL games and it makes the viewing much more enjoyable. Thanks Ciao Phil Not Hill Having more fun than any human being ought to be allowed to have. Now, go take on the day.
Nascar.com Check out the trackpass link: http://www.nascar.com/trackpass/landing/index.html?mc=1810 Interestingly, some of the restarts seem to be tape delayed on TV vs what the trackpass shows. Gotta get those commercials in....
FOX, I really want to see how well JPM places, but I'll be heading off to the Dallas Autorama in a bit.
jpm in 42nd and no pits - what happened? I wasn't a fan of him in F1, but I'd like to see him win here. Maybe its an elitist F1 vs. Nascar thing. It doesn't bode well for F1, and the assumption that its cars and drivers are the pinnacle of the racing universe if one of the better racers defected to Nascar and gets his ass kicked
Im actually pleased with JPM's performance so far. This is a totally different monster, and for his first real time racing like this, with all these cars, hes hanging in there fairly well.
Stewart came from the back to lead, only to crash out. The guy's very fast, and a bit too agressive... Greg
There wasnt any bit of agressiveness in that crash, just a driving mistake by Stewart. He dipped his car a little too low and had to lift, which caused Busch to run into him.
Well, that Jimmie Johnson wreck messed up JPM. He was running around 15-20th in the 3 wide pack. He went to pit like everyone else and I guess something went wrong so now he's back to 33rd.
Now he's back on the lead lap. Someone with a flat going 150mph through the pit lane came back on the track and hit someone. Smooth move.
Just got bsck from skiing and dring the 360 in time to see the last 15 laps. Then they red flagged the race. How'd you like to be Mark Martin sitting there with the lead and your car possibly overheating as you just sit there. My shorts would be brown indeed. Don't touch the car...you'll be disqualified. Skiing today was great by the way. Sunny and warm. No lift lines at the Two Creeks lift even though Snowmass was the most crowded I have seen it this season. The 360 has been in the garage a few weeks. Started right up and ran perfect. I forget how powerful the car is. The anti skid control came on several times spinning on the sand that was put down for snow. the roads were dry except for some melt running across the road in three or four places. Life is good. Life is great at 100+. Ciao
Finished 19th, but I think only ~25-30 cars were on the last lap. Edit: The guy that finished 18th right in front of him was the 07 car that was on its roof and on fire. LOL!
what a race! say what you will about nascar but they put on a great show! i was really rooting for mark martin...a real class act! jpm actually made a great showing and seemed to do very well in traffic while chasing the set up all day. he will be a driver to contend w/ this year to be sure.
Yeah, my wife and I were cheering for Martin... What an upset! I think the real MVP had to be David Gilliland. What a showing for a rookie... Pole and then right there at the end! I heard he even got lost coming to the track this morning...
i heard the same thing joe...he probably nearly got lost looking to find his way back to the front! what a run!! joe are you back in town? if so, i would love to talk to you about an ex rocketsports car w/ spares package that is for sale. i would like your thoughts. pcb
My boy, Jeff Gordon, went from 42nd (put back there for cheating) and ended up 12. Chevy did pretty good too. JPM went from 36 to 18 which is very good for a rookie. I hope he does well and also hope he gets to look at the back end of the 24 car all season. Note: The race wasn't as close as the first Daytona 500 in 1959. this is a trend. NASCAR is slipping in the excitement factor.
I was so upset when Martin didn't win it. If there was one guy besides JPM that I wanted to win, it was him.
