Love him or hate him, agree with him or not, definitely a Great Canadian I enjoyed his interview - very intelligent individual. David Suzuki talks Trudeau, aging and failed environmentalism as he turns 80 - Canada - CBC News
I don't care for him at all. Great Canadian, he has done nothing for Canada besides hosting a stupid show. I know his sister in law, or maybe it was her husband that was related by law. Regardless I've met him and can say is like all his kind (leaders of movements), he is a total hypocrite!
Why is this in a car Forum Rick??? Who cares about a CBC cronie I think this should be in the politics section.
I guess we shouldn't talk about anything Canadian other than Reza , my bad Btw - like him or hate him, he had a purpose in life to try and make the world better. Makes him ok in my book Hope I look that good if I make it to 80
That's because this is a Ferrari forum .............not a Suzuki forum If he had his way you would have lot's of space in your garage. You would have nothing there except a bunch of bicycles
Id have more respect for him if he practiced what he preaches. He doesn't. I also hate people who use scientific theory as fact. Then use that theory as an means to force people to change their behavior. His science is socialism dressed as science!
I used to watch his "Nature of Things" show as a kid, because it was focused on showcasing and explaining scientific matters in an easy-to-understand way. But then he took a political stance, became too preachy and he lost me.
Surprised he hasn't made a run for NDP leader yet ! "Lets squander all our money on the environment and improving the lifestyle of unemployed tree-lovers.." Its the "nature of things" ! LOL
From a CBC article dated March 2013: OTTAWA CBC president Hubert Lacroix didnt let facts get in the way of a good rant Tuesday at a House of Commons committee looking into sexual harassment at the state broadcaster. Lacroix attacked two Sun News Network personalities Byline host Brian Lilley and The Source host Ezra Levant for deliberately misleading Canadians for reporting on sexual harassment at the publicly-funded CBC and host David Suzukis demands when hes on speaking tours. The network tried to contact Suzuki, his publicist and the school. All declined to respond. Lacroix accused Lilley of attacking the broadcaster after he was given 1,454 documents under access to information that were mostly blacked out. Lilley requested information on incidents of sexual harassment or inappropriate behaviour in Ottawa and Toronto dating back to January 2010. At committee, Lacroix admitted there was one case of sexual harassment in one of the cities, but didnt explain why the CBC redacted it. He said the incident was one of three across the country, on top of five cases of harassment of a non-sexual nature, since 2010. So as I read this, from 2010 to 2013, there were 3 incidents of sexual harrassment and another 5 non-sexual in nature for a total of 8. Is 8 documented not a lot for a person in his position? It raises the question of what maybe out there before 2010 and what had gone undocumented. Sounds like another GianGhomeshi or Bill Cosby. He owns a number of properties and his partners are oil companies. There are many large contributors to his charity who are fossil burners. His personal house was valued in 2013 at $8.2 million. I dont mind all this and congratulate him in his efforts. But what he says at the podium and what he practices are two different things. At last count, over $15 million received from foreign companies such that hundreds of jobs lost in canadian fishing industry. And he is able to so silently have negative websites/articles removed from the internet. Well happy birthday Hypocrite.
