In my search for adding a dash cam in the Lusso, I came across the F8 forum discussing using the OBD port for power. Ran a search here and only read that most hard wire through fuse box.On my other cars, I just use the cig lighter port, since lusso only has one in center console, I'm going to save that for the radar.
Planning on getting the blackvue 970 2ch. Any Lusso owners run power for dashcam through OBD? It's certainly looks much easier to do than tapping into a fuse.

    Thanks

Not sure if OBD is much easier... It's really easy to run it from the fuse box. And if you use proper fuse taps it gives you a clean and safe set up. I had taken some pictures when I did my install (also for a Blackvue) and I had hardwired a PowerMagic Pro as well to get the parking mode. Look for the thread in here and you'll find the pictures.

Thanks yes, I have seen your post. Only reason I would say obd is easier is it's basically plug and play after getting the obd harness connector. Fuse connector certainly would be the cleaner setup. Mind sending me a PM or posting on here which fuse tap you used? Also which fuse did you tap? I may just end up doing that as it seems to be the popular option of the two. Thanks!

The blackvue 900/970 has a built in parking mode, is a power magic pro or similar, still needed?

Also for the lusso, can somebody tell me which exact fuse was used to tap into? I saw the diagram posted by @350MH83 and it seems there are 2 taps that need to happen. Which two?

Hey, indeed there are 2 taps. One for permanent 12V power, and one for +VCC power (on only when the ignition is on). I dont remember the fuse numbers but you can see them on the picture. They are the topmost fuses in each row (but you can use any fuse on the same row as they are all connected to the same, either permanent 12V, or +VCC).
For the fuse taps, I bought them on Amazon, here's the link. https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Keenso-Adapter-Adapters-Pieces-Standard/dp/B07DMVQPWJ/

Regarding your first question, it looks ike you can option a "parking mode" but it's basically just giving you the fuse taps and an overpriced battery pack. The power magic pro is a fraction of the price and will use the main battery instead, so your camera can stay on for much, much longer.

Nvm found it. If anyone else looking, it’s on the passenger side footwell. Remove plate and then the carpet.

just to confirm. Like you tapped the 15 fuse on left and 20 fuse on right and added a 10 fuse on the tap?

hey sorry for the late reply. The fuse box is in the passenger foot well, not the driver's. For the ground, any of these will do! I dont remember which one I had used and I have sold my car since so cant check... I just remember some of the ones you showed are loctite in place, so quite difficult to remove.
