Crow must taste really nice this time of the year.

She hung with Kanaan in the early going, considering Kanaan can kick anyone's ass and take names I'd say that was sign one of speed.
After the second caution (maybe third) she passed 2 cars in quick succession and headed to the front again.
After the last caution, when everyone else (other than Castroneves) went for immediate glory she dialed back and waited.
A race isn't won in the first lap, and she proved that.

Most of you are pissed because she proved her critics wrong.

Right on. Any series that restricts fuel use in any way devolves this way and Indy an CART lead the rest in it.

Alesi said he could hardly see because of his tears on the final lap of the 91 Canadian GP. Quite the birthday present for the driver of car 27 at Circuit GV.

Almost exactly the way Robin Liddell did on the same day in Grand Am, winning the GT category for Stevenson Motorsports at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Yet another incompetent who monitored fuel consumption while keeping sufficient speed for the victory.

It seems that Danica's win is a Neanderthal test......as Ron says, fuel economy IS part of the game and HAS been. LeMans for a long, long time has awarded an Index Of Efficiency.

Fuel strategy is a part of any race with pit stops. Period.

Danika Patrick is a marketing phenomenon, nothing more, nothing less. IRL, (especially with the CART split) was getting hammered by NASCAR for over a decade. Viewership and race attendance were taking a huge hit.

How do you try to spur new interest in your sport? Appeal to the largest demographic ...women (girls). They made a vain attempt with Sarah Fisher but she was crashing cars faster than they could make new ones and she wasn't a "hottie" so there was little marketing appeal, so what do they do? Go out and find a petite, attractive reasonable competent (for a woman) driver and give her every thing she needs to succeed. Then promote the hell out of her.

Bottom line, if she were a man, with her performance on the track, she would be racing modifieds on some dirt track in rural North Carolina right about now.

For all you fuel strategy detractors, it's not how you win. It just that you won.
The schmuck who came in second was the first loser followed by all the other losers. Way to go Danica!

Every F1 race is heavily dependent on fuel strategy. A light fuel load in qualifying may result in a pole and a pole on a track that is difficult to pass on may result in a victory. BMW Sauber used that strategy in Bahrain and if Kubica would have been able to make a decent start he may have held onto the lead.
So Kudos to Danica's team for figuring out how much fuel to run and how to have enough fuel at the end to be able to stay out while the neanderthals who can't add 1 + 1 had to come in for more fuel very late in the race. Those guys would have been running slower if their cars had more fuel, so she would have probably beaten them anyway :)

Schumacher won many races thanks to Ross Brawn's fuel and pitstop strategies.
Would the people complaining about Danica's win like to subtract those Schumacher wins?

Really???? Shocking! NOBODY ever does that. Danica is the first to invent this new way of winning called "strategy".

Face it. She won fair and square. Now go put on your Ferrari Underoos and go to bed. Nobody wants to hear your crying.

I'm sure this will go on for another 200 posts about how Danica's weight advantage allowed her to win a fuel-conservation race.
