Someone had a recent post on here, they drove a Straman convertible, said the chassis flex was like a rubber hose. And the place it's for sale at, a BIG thumbs down.

Called them one time about a Ferrari they had listed on Ebay. I very politely asked the man on the phone, when was the last engine out/belt service done(the ad made no mention of service at all), the person in the rudest voice possible, said,"we did it last night!", and hung up on me. A fellow in the Kansas City area bought a 308 from Schmitt, without a PPI, or in person inspection, BIG, COSTLY MISTAKE! When it was delivered to a well known Ferrari shop in the KC area(with an excellent reputation), the shop owner said the supposed "creampuff 308", looked like it had been sitting in the open air, along the New Jersey turnpike for 15 years! The initial inspection to fix all the numerous leaks, and inoperative equipment, was over $16,000, for this "cream puff". Anyone can take pictures of a sows ear, and make it look like(and describe it as) a silk purse. Sad, very sad. I did file a complaint with Ebay, for whatever good that did.

The dealer. I have no knowledge of the car, but based on other Schmidt cars I have seen in the past I would guess that it's a money pit and not honestly represented. Do an internet search on the Dealer and you will find plenty to dissuade you from going any further.

My due dilligence is almost complete
I have found none of the aformentioed pitfalls to apply to this car or me
I have heard of many horror stories of this dealer, but he has what I want.
As myDad always said to me
    "Let the buyer be ware"

Not sure the tone is really called for. You have asked input and are getting it. I believe this care has been at this dealer for a while. There are a couple of old posts on this car and from what I recall all had the same to say. As you say, buyer beware. Best of luck.

Besides the articles some years back in Old Cars Weekly about Schmitt(NOT Good), a while back they had a Pantera for sale. On the Pantera forum, someone inquired if anyone could go inspect the Pantera for them. Someone did, and posted a rather detailed list of issues with the car, and that the dealer didn't seem too concerned about the problems. After that was posted, several people on the Pantera forum , posted some less than steller comments about Schmitt & Co. With all that said, it DOES NOT mean the advertised Ferrari convertible is a bad car at all. Just do your do diligence, as you would on any used exotic. A good place to get a PPI done in that area is St Louis Service Center. AND, for what it's worth, I love the look of the Testarossa convertible! But again, reading the recent comment on F-Chat about those cars having a lot of chassis flex, that sounds scary, wouldn't inspire one to really hammer the car!

    Sorry no offense intended
However 3rd hand information is not input
    Its silly and not relevant
Did you drive it ,not someone posted.
As many people that said it flexes is as many that said it does not
I will decide this weekend as i have a deposit on it
I know all about this dealers rep.

It would take a fair amount of money and fabrication, but a 4, or 6 point roll bar, tied into the frame should help stop the chassis flex quite a bit. Cover it in leather to match the interior, and it could be made to look almost like a factory item. Not to mention the safety aspect, in the event of a roll over.
