With a second child on the way I was looking at Mondials. I found this one(http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1984-Ferrari-Mondial-Convertible-Needs-work-/200783015342?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2ebf99adae) and I am not afraid of refurbishing a damged car but the description has me thinking this is a total scam. In the description "I have only seen the car by the photos that you are seeing, so if you cannot tell from the photos, then I don't know. Sold as is where is salvage in need of repair." also "Time is of the essence so payment must be immediate and pick up immediate." this gem "Car is in Atlanta GA at time of listing. However, it is in the process of being transported to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. If it is moved, I will add a post to this ad." and the final suspicious line " sale is by photo only as insurance yard will not let anyone in, they bring the car out to the buyer after payment is made." Does anyone know this car?
Where is Nino when you need him ? I'll bet he can save this one, the front will buff out nicely ! L0L cheers! Image Unavailable, Please Login
The ebay link is not opening for me, but from the photo above, it looks like the crashed black Mondial that was in a Copart auction from Atlanta that ended last Friday. From the photos that were on Copart, it looked to be a front end collision, possibly with no engine damage. Not sure how the auction ended, but early last week there were no bids so I threw in a opening bid, and last I saw it was higher than that.
Not worth fixing unfortunately. Would cost less to get a good one with history. Front cross member/frame looks completely warped.
It's got to be the one that was on Copart, now offered at $7,000 buy it now. At the least you could part it out and eventually get your money back if the motor runs.
