I need to redo my subscription, but here are two current pictures of my e34. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d170/coandcambria69/123.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d170/coandcambria69/IMG_7097copy.jpg
I used to drive the old 5 series and now am in the new one since 2 weeks. Wife is in a Ford S-Max - the best handling European minivan out there with a creamy ex-Volvo 5 cylinder turbocharged engine with a 6 speed stick shift. Almost drives as well as the beemers and very cool looking too. I do like the look of the new F10 BMW 5 series. Very cool! My dad had a 1998 E39 BMW 5 series, which I really liked and drove a couple of times. The E60/E61 (2003-2009) BMW 5 series was a capable car, but wasn't much of a looker. All the best, Andrew.
My dad had a '98 5 series as well... I've always loved BMWs, and the new 5 Series is no exception!! --Grant
My wife drives an SLK230. You'll laugh at my DD however; 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Inexpensive to work on, and 31MPG highway too. Rarely needs attention, though I did just replaced the turbo. Shiny Side Up! Bill Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Daily driver is a 2007 Scion tC with 78k miles on it. My daily commute is 36 miles one-way. Towing and hauling vehicle is a 2001 Dodge Dakota with 4.7 litre V-8 and 128k miles. It was the daily driver until I bought the Scion. It still tows the boats and hauls junk. The fun car is a Ferrari 328 GTS. JAF
Just picked up a '10 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L V8 as my daily. The powertrain is awesome on this thing! Image Unavailable, Please Login
nice truck! that's what I'd buy if I was buying something (that didn't need to tow a two-car race trailer )
I do quite like it. Some fun was had the other day in the "greenlanes" Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's great fun, let me tell you. Set the transfer case to "Strasse Alle" or to "Gelande", engage diff locks and there really isn't anything this baby can't handle Makes my old Range Rover seem like an oxcart in comparison!
To the G-wagen owner-thats a w460/1 not the w463 luxury one they only sell here in the U.S. What year is yours? how did you get about importing it? I'd like to try to import/find an already imported w460/1 because they're so much more BADASS than the 463. Lmk how you acquired the car. Anyways, my DD is a 1996 VW GTI VR6 that was handed down to me from my father. He bought the car new in 96 and put 203k miles on the clock. I put the last 8k on the clock so I'm at 211k. Not bad, huh? It has a 172hp staggered-inline 6 engine in a car that weights a little over a ton. It runs like hell. I added an intake, a cat-back remus exhaust, Autotech 262 cams with a GIAC chip so it should have around 200hp now. Despite the mileage the car still runs perfect, no CEL's, nothing. It was babied since day one. I also added 35% tints, a new paint job last september, ground control coilovers, koni adjustable shocks, and a thule roof rack for my bikes. Here's an old pic pre coil-overs I took right after my paint job. EDIT: I forgot about the European e-cdoe headlamps I have, a european front bumper and european rear hatch. Also smoked fog lights. And pioneer head unit. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tom, Yes, I know it's a W460. I worked for MB for many years Anyhow, I bought it from a guy who worked for Haliburton. It was originally sold new in Duisburg, Germany and was imported to New York in about 1990. It's an '84. I have all of the EPA/DOT paperwork via Europa Importers. Total cost to bring that truck here was $135,000! In 1990!! Yikes.... You can find them for sale on the various G websites and occasionally the old ones pop up on eBay and the like. Cheers, Aaron
Do you still have to maintain it as much as the newer g wagons, or is the regular maintainence next to nothing since its got fewer electronics.
I like to mix things up. Right now I switch back and forth between a '74 914 2.0 and a '97 S600 Coupe. Here's a pic of my 914 and a "file photo" image of an S600 as I haven't shot any photos of the actual car yet. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
