I think the basic problem is and what you guys are alluding to is that cyclists don't often see themselves as " motor vehicles" and motorists don't see cyclists as "motor vehicles". This causes uncertainty as what each other is going to do when they encounter each other. The obvious response is if that car or that bike would just obey all the traffic laws there would be no issue. Problem is that cars can do things bikes can't and vice versa. There needs to be a separate code for each vehicle that allows them to co exist with each other considering the strengths and weaknesses of each. That along with a good dose of courtesy would solve a lot of problems.

The problem is that behaviors like that are not condemned by the supposedly good cyclists because they're the minority.

Happened to me when I lived there. I had like a thousand bicylers surrounding my car and one staged being hit by my car and then the pound but no broken glass began.

They're nothing more than a bunch of petulant aholes.

That was back before 1997 so I see that they haven't improved any ...

In all seriousness, living where I live, I see this more often than I see peaceful riders. Its always a pack of bikers surrounding someone and yelling and hitting the car.

the video wasn't real cyclists, it was some hippies or hipsters making some stupid social protest ala Occupy Wall Street etc.

if I'm cycling alone or in a group legally and a car makes a purposeful and intended move to threaten my life, if we catch up I will remove that person from the car, cut their chest open, remove their heart, and let them watch their own beating heart for the seconds until the brain no longer has blood.

Note: if you ever really infuriate Rob, it's probably best to leave the planet. Even then, you're probably still not safe...

Then spend the rest of your life sitting in jail and getting you know what from Bubba. Be serious, you probably never killed anyone in your life.

Too many dog-walkers extending the leash across the bike path. Furthermore, it's unlawful to walk away from doggie doo.....when you spot it, you pick it up and put it in your pocket.

Otherwise, I want to see everyone carrying a bag of dog doo.

Was checking out some vids of manual F430s and now can see what you guys get riled up about...

He gets stuck behind one about halfway through the video. I would be annoyed too.

(not sure how to embed videos on FChat)

UCI Road World has been in Richmond the past few weeks. This city and the course they set up has ZERO street and sharing infrastructure for cyclists.

With that said, all of the visitors have been compliant and polite while quite literally swarming the roads during their non-comp runs. It's been really cool to be a part of it.

ha, I wonder about all the karma coming way of motorists that go after cyclists on 15 pound bicycles in their 4,000 pound cars. if there is a judge of karma pretty obvious the results when cyclist is following the traffic laws. even if the cyclist ran a stop sign where does karma come out vigilante with temper vs. father and mother exercising.

    Agreed.
There is a somewhat narrow road with swift traffic near me which is a magnet for cyclists. I'm baffled why they figure this a good place to ride a feather weight machine among the local road elephants piloted by distracted drivers. You've covered cyclist behavior well.
