Spent some time over the last 12 months to make these - from CAD design to FEA to CNC and assembly!

The centre piece is 17", but I made a double-step-lip for the front to bring them to 19" and a triple-step in the rear to bring them to 20". Now the entire cross-section of the wheel is either brake caliper/disk or tire cross-section.

    WDYT?

I have not observed any strange sounds as you mention at high speed. I am just about to make the second set for a Countach replica that I am working on...

    Pretty cool.

Did you do any stress analysis in your CAD program? Also is this 6061 or 7075 alloy or ?

Hi Ray - absolutely - I have spent a lot of time doing the stress analyses and have tested the rims extensively. The material is 6061 - the center piece is plenty strong. The weight is low as the diameter is small - it is basically a 17" wheel. The step lips are the most stressed parts - you may remember the early BBS wheels that were 3-piece, they developed cracks after long and heavy abuse in the lips. I have numerous cracked lips here and made sure to resist this by design.
