Definitely inspiring! That's a lot of engine outs though! I don't think it will fetch anything close to that asking price, though. After a certain mileage, the values tend to dive off a cliff which is a shame since I've heard these cars are fairly sturdy engine wise.
I'm planning on soon listing my 14k mile White on grey for $125,000 which includes the luggage set and new engine out.
Good looking car and good price. There is no way my white/black '89 8k mile car is going to leave my house anywhere close to that price.
Nice color combination. I think $150k is a more accurate market value so this will not be around long.
Check it out - Testarossa values are climbing again after about a year of being flat! https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/1987-Ferrari-Testarossa
Hedge against coming inflation...that's what I see. Shamile Freeze. . . Miami Vice! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
I checked the values on every year and it's interesting to note that the 85's now have the highest average value. First year monospecchio starting to effect values and/or desireability perhaps?
FWIW - I took my 86 Platinum Concours winner off the market last year as prices were low. I got it a second set of wheels and tires (one for show and the other to drive on), got the dust covers for the luggage, and a paint correction to eventually put back on the market sometime this year. I think numbers will be stronger this year.
Having just looked at over 15 Rosso Corsa Testarossas with 5,600-36,000 miles carefully over the past 4 months, $125,000 for this car seems light, assuming the car is mechanically and cosmetically fine. I found prices ranging from $100-170,000 and ended up paying right in the middle at $140,000. If the paint was good, I focused on the interior and engine compartment both for cosmetics and for a good idea of how much the owner(s) cared about the car. Then, getting into the last major service, reviewing the bills, and talking to the people who did it. This fairly rare color combination should warrant a higher price than $125,000, if my experience and your car shows well in regard to the kinds of considerations I had. I'm not the most knowledgeable TR buyer, but this is my second one and I did spend some time on it. Gordon
And take down your CL ad. Then take some good pictures with a good camera so that it is presented well. I found my TR on Ebay. It had been listed and relisted for 4 months. Same crappy pics and a one line description....slightly over normal prices for the time. I decided to drive over and see it on a whim one day as it was local. Cheapest car in a private collection with over 50 exotics. Fresh belt out service, 2 owners, Full service records since 1991. I handed him a deposit on the spot. He was just making space. I suspect you want to get a fair dollar, If you take my above advice...hopefully you will get a fair price.
Thanks for the advice everyone. CL ad will go down (I know the car doesn't belong there). I've spent the last couple of years fussing and sorting the car out correctly and have it I believe at a point where it shows well and performs as it should, but with no time to drive it. My 550 will be next once I sell my T.R.
