Does anyone on here have access to the auction prices? I’m curious what the last 90 day F430 spider prices are. From what I have heard theirs is a big disconnect between advertised pricing and what dealers and auctions are getting.

No one? Well i have done some analysis asking prices are down about 10% the last 5 months and BAT prices the last two months are down 6% from the previous 2 months.

kind of crazy but things are settling down

I don’t think anybody else would have done any different than checking on BAT. Prices typically dip for the winter though and then go back up in spring. Just like the motorcycle market. Not saying the market isn’t cooling, but comparing spring/summer prices yoy would be a better barometer.

You also have to be very careful and compare similar cars (options, mileage and year). Too many times cars are compared incorrectly and those factors do greatly affect the value and you may see some strange trends that aren't real.

I also think as these cars get older, we'll start seeing a split of vehicles that have great maintenance history and paperwork and those that just get passed around to various owners that found themselves in a position to finally own a Ferrari but change their mind once a major service is due. So, while values for well maintained and documented examples may be rising as they get rarer, the values of those without documentation might be taking larger hits dragging down the average.

I don’t think this is crazy. All cars have come down substantially in the past few months. Nice to see as prices were out of control. Do I see F430s tanking in value? No. It’s a wonderful NA V8 Ferrari.

I really like your opinion on this. So so so many exotics are not maintained well. Coil packs are 15+ years old, etc. A well running and documented maintenance car will always command a premium. Truly I believe if you have a nice car, you are not selling it. Most cars on the market are not amazing example in my eyes.

In my opinion, maintenance history is key. Making sure all the regular culprits have been addressed costs a pretty penny. Making sure all fluids are regularly changed costs a pretty penny. Keeping it looking good costs a pretty penny. You will have 3 categories. The concourse ones, low miles, amazing shape, Ferrari dealer maintenance. The ones that are passed around where things are addressed as issues occur. And the ones in the middle, driver cars with higher miles and well maintained. Option are somewhat subjective. Red vs non-red...traditionally red costs a little more, coupe vs convertible, traditionally spiders cost a little more. Some people want carbon ceramic breaks, some people do not want them. This stuff, in my opinion, is more subjective.

    What DG said!

About 9 months ago, I passed on a *clean* F430 Spider - and SAVED money buying another one that, once I got it in hand, then spent slightly more money in updates/repairs (yes, including exhaust manifolds) to the "cheap" one that what the clean one would have cost :(

If I had it to do over again... sigh...

Oh well... Ferraris and women... live and learn, right?! :)
