The above topic been discussed several times but we never seem to get a good answer. I have got to tell you I have been waiting as I need new tires.

The rears are easy as Michelin PS2 are available in 335/35/17

    The fronts are the problem:

I am thinking of running a Michelin PS2 225/45/17 which is available

Here is a comparison to the original size recommended fronts

    Recommmended:
    235/45/17 25.3" H X 9.3" D
    245/40/17 24.7" H X 9.6" D
    VS
    225/24/17 25.0" H X 8.9" D

So the height works but it's a little skinnier.

What do you folks think or are there better options? My driving is highway and back roads - no track.

    Thanks.

    Drew

Just buy the stock tires for them from Pirelli.

As long as the 225/45R17 can be mounted in your front rims (the tire bead can be secured to the wheel), that works, as the rotational size is nearly the same as stock size.

and you could use tiresize.com/comparison to do an in-depth compare

Pirellis are out of stock/backordered forever, Pirelli has not been good for tires for several years...

Hey - there is an error in my original post. The tire size I am looking at is 225/45/17.

...and yes, if the Pirelli tires were available I would go that route.

Had a chat with the Tire Rack folks. They do not recommend putting the thinner 225/45/17 on the F40 front width is a little thin.

The other thing to do is to go with the 335/35/17 Michelin PS2 for the rears and use the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/40/17 for the fronts. I realize this is a mis-match in tread pattern which is taboo but there are not a lot of good options out there.

... and I really do not want to go to 18" wheels.

    Thoughts/Opinions?
