I just received a note from an Fchatter that took his silver CS in for service this week and a customer saw it and offered him a price he couldn't refuse. Perhaps the owner will chime in...
This is probably the only Stradale in the world with painted mirrors. Unbelievable. I was surprised to read the seller's description of all the minor issues.
This one raised to $299.9k Nah, not defensive just pointing out facts. I know you're not a hater. Plus, 3x seems about right between CS and 355 prices. When 355's were 50k CS's were about 150k. 355's are now 100k and CS's 300k. Recently purchased by an Fchatter
that's 10+ years ago. 10 years ago you would have done better with that money in apple, google, or better yet, facebook.
but could that have given you 10 years of joy and pleasure the CS would have given? ;-) actually it would have!!!
heck yeah... watching money grow would be enjoyable. Maybe not as much fun but definitely pretty cool. Facebook? Being a billionaire is pretty sweet.
I passed on a low mileage red one last year which was about $165K IIRC. I really wanted a Scud. Still happy with my decision but hate to think what that CS would sell for today or in a few years.
I predict the CS will be close to a 7 figure car in the next 10 years. Any price you pay for it now will be considered a good buy.
A RHD CS with 15000miles is available in the UK, from Dick Lovett, for £230,000 ($336,000). Makes the US cars seem relatively cheap!
Although I think these cars are amazing, and that inevitably their prices will rise with time, I just don't understand why they have to rise so quickly and so steeply in such a short period of time. It is just not healthy from a market point of view. I mean what's with the panic buying that is suddenly fueling such rises so quickly???
Prices have been steadily rising over the past few years and then shot up in the last 6-8 months. Several factors come into play. Simply put... supply and demand with few examples being available on an already limited number made, single year production car with a cult following. Then add factors such as ending of naturally aspirated V8's, end of the Luca era, demand/prices of other collectible Fcars rising and not to mention cheap monies.
Most people are followers there are few leaders and even fewer individuals... Simply put it's just people jumping on the bandwagon and hoping to make a good invesemt while enjoying their invesemt at the same time.
