A funny thing, kind of I guess, is if Ferrari would to stop the current FF, and replace it with a "V12 2plus2" that is based partly on the FF, with lower roof and well 612 design or something like that. Then that will give all FF owners a "limited edition FF" - since the production numbers are a bit on the low side... That is somewhat funny if that happens...

say that again - I'm not sure I followed - if they change the name it will still be a limited edition FF?

I think Bamsefar is suggesting, although I'm sure to be corrected, that if the new car is in fact a 2 plus 2 on a stretched F12 floor pan or slightly shortened FF the the current model will indeed become a limited run/edition by virtue of the low numbers sold worldwide to date.

    ah I see
being an owner I shld probably know this but does anyone not how many 612s were made total versus 599s, how many FFs vs f12s?

Just got off the phone from Italy (somewhere south of Modena) and the new car to be unveiled is called the V12 GT 2+2 but yet to be named officially? Mystery or what??????

    It's been done before 2005 612 (540hp) was being sold alongside 2005 575 (515hp)

IMO during the last production year of the F12 Ferrari will be busy doing LE models
and will only be making regular F12's on a request basis only - just my thoughts :)

I highly doubt this car is anything other than a modification of the "FF"
IMO since the FF was not a sales numbers success they are trying to
distance this car from the FF and will probably be naming it entirely different
In other word they will be trying their level best to disassociate it from the FF
I don't mean to offend anyone it's just conjecture on my part :)

Wow, 90% new is really impressive. Looking forward to it.

You know Jaz, they would say every every car is built on request. But I think I know what you mean and I agree. I think they will build a few F12b but not too many going forward- thats how they've done it in the past.

I just said I think they would bring out the F12-M sooner only because I figure they are trying to bump up production and having a look at the recent stock market valuation it make me think they are feeling more pressure than when they were just a part of the family.

My invite to the Gala Dinner clearly states that prior to Dinner will be the unvailing of the 'New V12 GT 2+2' . So we shall see

Took a crack at merging a couple of the teasers into one image. I'm no Photoshop expert, but it helps reveal a little more of the front end.

Unfortunately, we were invited but cannot attend the event, so we're looking forward to seeing the updates.

I posted what I have heard directly earlier in this thread, but here are some additional reactions

The FF (and 612 before it) are the cars in their "V12 GT 2+2" category...not necessarily indicative of much. "V8 Sports Car" has been used consistently, "Special Series" (now "Limited Edition" for SA, GTO, tdf etc

The "FF" name probably was not so catchy, a fresh name might be interesting

This is find very hard to believe. That would imply new engine, gearbox, suspension, braking systems, 4RM, chassis.....which would essentially require a full new platform that also needs to be essentially re-certified in every country. While it would be very cool, the expense alone (fresh investment) and the hit (writing off unabsorbed FF platform investment) would be a big ding. I would anticipate more of a 458=>488, Cali => Cali T evolution; new bumpers, RWS, engine tweaks don't require a full development effort and perhaps little compliance work (same engine as f12, detuned). (FWIW, the people who bought the FF tend to like the rear seats, whereas I have not heard too many Cali owners who talk about how much their kids/friends like sitting back there). The FF today (as is) is labeled 2+2 in their product roadmap.

see comment above. I"m sure the addition of PVC to the car will motivate incorporation into a new "label". Personally, 488GTB, 458 Speciale, even Cali 30 made sense. "LaFerrari" and "F12tdf" (the tdf part specifically) did not do much for me....

Regardless, 1) looking forward to seeing what they've done 2) personally, I hope they retain the roofline and profile 3) I'm sure we'll get one when our '15 FF is due to be changed up. Until then, it's still our favorite.

Also, the lack of spy photos of fully camouflaged test mules suggests it's just a face lift. If it were a 90% new car, we'd have almost certainly seen heavily camo'ed prototypes driving round Maranello for months.

    Jason thanks- nice work!

Maybe the 90% new thing is a little bit lost in translation and maybe its body panels are 90% new... I agree 90% new in terms of engine, transmission, etc...
