Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 - #ReadySetRed Is that the countdown to the reveal of the facelifted FF? And has there been any updates on whether they're sticking with the V12 or are they offering both V12 and V8 engines in different markets, or are they ditching the V12 all together for the V8?
Facelifted FF will likely drop in February, a couple weeks in advance of the Geneva Motor Show. Ferrari usually likes to bring out its new models far enough in advance to own the news cycle for a few days, then have the new model in the flesh at Geneva. As for engines, latest I've heard (largely from sources here, so take of that what you will) is that there'll be V12 and turbo V8 options. The TT V8 may be limited to select markets where emissions regulations are more strict, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari offered it everywhere, much the way Bentley offers 8- and 12-cylinder Continentals.
Reveal date and place set. Feb 15th at Lake Como. Got the invite. It just say V12 GT 2+2. Not sure if it's the new FF or another V12 machine, as the FF is basically a 4-up, not a 2+2.
I never doubted for a moment that it would be, it is just a question of whether the ttV8 is announced as an option.
Does it make any sense have two 4 seaters in the line-up? Don't think so despite the boot and RWD. The FF is already a terrific car which might has a lack design-wise (opinion that I don't share) that could/would be fixed with the supposedly facelift.
Wonder if "this" event will show what have been something like a FF but with lower back? And then rename it to GT V12 - and drop current FF line? That would also explain what a few have talked about the four tail lights... Who knows, current FF might only exist for another month or so...?
Yeah, according to the latest info it looks like it's gonna be the presentation of the FF replacement... which is a shame! Imho FF just need a few aestethical adjustments here and there (mainly its frontal and/or headlights). Further than that owners seem to be really happy with the capabilities of its car. Let's see what happens.
Where in Lake Como is it? I was there in October and Villa d'Este had just closed for the winter but never need any excuse to go to Lake Como!
Sorry not going. To make Feb15th in Italy means I had to miss Valentine's Day, big no no for the wife.
I was about to say, "Boy, that seems way too soon to replace the FF," until I double-checked...and realized the FF has been around for about five years already. Yikes. Still, a five-year lifespan before being completely replaced seems quick. The 612 and the 599 both lasted six years. Anyone think Ferrari fast-tracked up the FF's replacement because it wasn't doing as well as they hoped? Or are they just trying to replace all their models more rapidly?
Think it'll be a bit sharper here and there. Liked the FF when it came out, absolutely in love with it at the moment...Keeping the V12 is great news. Hopefully it won't be substantially different.
