I beleive that the early Diablo braking system is that of the QV Countach. What about the 6 shocks? Are they identical?

There is old thread on Lamborghini Talk, (you know the one you can't write here, because it threathens this site so much, I don't know why, but most of people here also write and read those other sites as well...)

    http://www.**********************/vbforum/f43/koni-sport-countach-early-diablo-414/

They are protected from Lamborghini, so Koni can not sell them.
There was some option from Japan, You find that from Lamborghini Power -site

Let me rephrase, at the Way Assauto shocks of the Countach identical to the those found on the early 2WD Diablos?

I don't know the diablo shocks, most likely they used Koni as well, but what I know that the Koni Sport fit the CT and early Diablo.

Way Assauto silent blocks were used on the shocks, not the shocks. I believe all the shocks on pre-VW Lamborghinis were Koni.

Correct. I found a spare set on eBay a few years ago. They look nice on the shelf but may be hard to rebuild. Source to rebuild the original way assauto shocks?

No problem to rebuild here in Italy. Very reasonable cost and never leaked since. Good rebound.

Oh, I'm sorry. Since the early ones? That's a little strange, as other models had Koni.

Having verified this on my cars, I'm pretty certain that the LP400 & LP400S were originally supplied with Konis, and, Way Assautos came in at some point, either LP500S or QV. For sure, as Raymond suggests, QVs used WAs.

    Can't comment about the Diablos.

It was all about cost saving, Way Assauto is like Napa a part supplier which made pricy parts, cost saving was also the reason why the oil cooler went from the front to the left Naca from LP5000S -> QV.

Good to know! WAs sound fair when you have 6 coilover shocks per car. Although I'm still confused about the name of the manufacturer...

Yeah, they have no catalogue for Lamborghini.

I had a look into LM002 owner's manual and surprisingly, it says LM002 are equipped with WAY-ASSAUTO shocks. Which is probably why they changed 24 shocks during the Dakar run and left the race (no shocks left). In street use they give a nice ride though.
