Cost of repairing scuff marks and painting front bumper?

    Labor: Remove and reinstall bumper

    Repair scuff damage, glass work

Refinish paint to match existing color

I just got a bid and it was a lot higher than I expected.

What have you guys paid for repairing and refinishing your front bumper?

    Thanks,

    How about $5100 +

I had a previous quote of $1250 in California I should of had it done there before moving to Texas

I thought the bid was too high. And the body shop was saying it may be even higher than
$ 5100 once they got a better look at the underside. The bumper has some scraps and is worn on the outer edges of the bumper. Nothing major. It does need some glass work to make it right.

I wanted to attach pics, but, I no longer see that option anymore. Can anyone help me attach pics?

What color? Metallic paints especially darker ones, are almost impossible to match as perfect as you hope.

Rear bumper cover actually; on my Volvo C70 Convertible. Remove and replace, deal with all the parking sensors, punch out the soccer ball sized corner dent, fill imperfections, sand and repaint (metallic). Cost: $375 Looks like it never happened!

I had mine done three times @ $400 each. Just take the bumper off yourself, takes 10 minutes.

This is about right. I just had mine done. Large crack and repaint. Removing it was easy. you'll need a helper to install.

My wife's Lexus had a cut in the bumper cover. $500 to fix and repaint. You are being gouged -- take it elsewhere. Also as said, take the bumper off and save money. It's an easy two man job -- just note how many shims are installed and where.

$5000 sounds like it includes a new bumper, not a repair and repaint. Unless there is more to this story that we are missing, this is usually the type of estimate you get from a shop that wants to gouge your insurance. I bet they think you are going to charge it to your insurance and so they are jacking up the estimate with all kinds of crazy add ons like blending in the paint color with the fenders and hood, respraying the clear on the entire front of the car, etc. Did you tell them you were paying cash?
