For this poll, assume they are the exact same price... Which would you rather?

They are both front engined V8's with 2 seats and a similar size trunk. They both come in a 6-Speed stick shift, and overall they are similar size and weight. The Aston I believe is more expensive MSRP, but they depreciated quickly to sub-$80k and the Z06's were selling over MSRP for a while, so they are close in price. The Aston has the stunning quality in the interior whereas the people say the Vette is cheap inside, however the Vette I think is significantly a faster car in every way. So if offered both sets of keys, which would you rather?

    Proper Nice vs. Raw Fast

You could get just about anything to go fast. I choose nice. AMs are just pure sex.

The AMV8 is one of the best looking cars out there right now, and that interior is just stunning... but I drove a new Z06 the other day and GOD is that fun... I think it's a tough choice. Depends a lot on how you would drive it I guess.

my business partner has a V8 Vantage and Ive yet to see one sell for under $100k so not sure where the $80k figure is from..

but for me Vantage all the way... better looking inside and out than the vette and while it doesnt perform quite like a Z06 Im never going to use that performance on the street anyway.

I love the new Z06 but I'd have to say the AM is soooo hot.

But, this is like asking which would you rather have: a big wheel or a green machine. :)

Who wouldn't take the Aston if price were equal?

But they're not, and the service costs of keeping them on the road aren't even close. Buying a new Chevrolet with 100K mile powertrain warranty versus buying a used low-volume specialty British sports car ...... hmmmm.

As a track slut, the Z06 wins hands down.

    Aston all the way.

the vette is nice, ok very nice , but its mass produced, on every corner and there will lots of them made so all they will do is go down in value like all the other corvettes.

i could care less about "speed" on public roads. i love to see the guys buy these things after reading too many magazines and message boards and then sit in traffic and get stuck on 45mph speed limited roads with cops at every corner.

the old ferraris and lamborghinis i have had, i have bought because i wanted them, and to drive them for what they are .... " a fun car ".

    to each his own.

buy a sport bike if you want speed, and see how long that lasts.

i would rather have an older AM any day than any of the new stuff anyway.

mark my words, all this computer crap is going to be shunned in the future, and the simple cars will be sought after. :)

    This really isn't close.

In fact I'd buy the Aston before the Porsche 997 Turbo: the exterior/interior looks really set it apart, and as posted above it offers much more performance than I could ever use.

I would take the Corvette over the new Mustang GT350, though. Even with leaf springs the Chevy seems better balanced. If I wanted something to beat up on the track, the Z06 is tempting. Although the Lotus Exige S (haven't driven one - yet!) seems like it might be the ultimate raw track toy.

The Corvette's interior is very different from that of a Malibu, and the Aston Martin oozes class.

    There is no comparison.

Vette. I don't need a nice interior, I'd probably rip all the leather out anyways.

Easy choice: Aston. Why? Anybody can throw a big engine into a car. Not everybody can make a car that makes everyone surrounding it collapse in envy.

Vette. The Aston is good looking, but its not fast. Its more of a looker then a thriller. Where as the Z06 has presence, and it can blow the doors off 90% of cars out there.

There are many places you could take that Z06 and get that reaction.

Aston martin. The Vette is nice but the interior does indeed suck, which matters to me, that and the vette is commonplace the AM is not. Both imo are good looking but I think the am is a bit sexier. That and I love the way the AMV8 sounds!

Not sure you'd get envy. Maybe confusion when everyone is wandering the parking lot afterwards trying to figure out which one is theirs.
