    Dale died at 43 years of age in 2003. He never served any time. As for the later, I don't doubt they helped the agency as plea deal.

    Their Lear passed into the hands of the agency where it was used to transport certain foreign nationals to Gitmo. Then the ownership gets a bit murky.

    No doubt. Do you really want to know how the government got it? Too many toys from illegal doings wind up in the hands of people "supposedly" working for the taxpayer.

    During that time, I was not a Porsche fan given their dominance (don't think I've ever been a huge fan, but time has softened that stance). In IMSA, I was pro-Chevy and Nissan.

    But Al Holbert epitomized gentleman racer. I really thought he was great and call myself a fan - although it pained me to see the Corvettes, GTP-ZX - and even the Jags - lose, when Al won, it was ok because I just respected that guy to the fullest.

    Raced in NASCAR, CART, and won Le Mans, Daytona, and Sebring - he was a tough loss, and not forgotten.
