    Hi Henry.

You should most definitely have the Vitaloni Tornado mirrors. Important that it's the variant with metal housing and not the plastic version - and NOT the "Baby" version.

They are not the easiest to find in good condition but quite a few cars had them. Ferrari 308 QV - 400 - Maserati Quattroporte 3 and a few models of Alfa Romeo.

    Regards,
    Arvid

For the later cars (412, and possibly some of the later 400i), the Turbo is close, but the correct Ferrari and Lamborghini mirrors were L/R sided, with the mirror housing itself being different so the mount to the base was towards the bottom, rather than along the housing's centerline.

Thanks to all of you, this will make it much easier!

Would the Tornado be the same as the 31330? Or a different model?

I think the 31330 is the correct version - at least it looks the same on pictures. The 400 had the electric Tornado as did the QP3 and maybe a few Countach. Alfa Romeo Spider + Alfetta GT used the manual version but some GTV6 had the electric Tornado. Both versions are equal to look at.

These look about right exept for the base mount that holds the mirror to the door : https://alfa-restoration.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=319

This is the correct base mount for the 400 :
