I recently bought a built Pocher K55 kit (red kit)). Unfortunately during transit the front hood hinges broke and the paint around the windwshield and doors was badly chipped :( I am explorng a repaint and would appreciate pointers on the source/ brand and color code.

Ask over on one of the other forums for the F40 paint code and have a couple of rattle cans filled.

Even if you got the exact colour and brand of paint that was originally used it is very difficult to match/blend damage on such a small area, one coat of paint either way can affect the colour, not to mention different people have the knack of getting different finishes out of a can or gun. So a full repaint would be best and using the exact Ferrai colour and using auto paint means you can rub the finish out and polish it like a real car. If you have no experience in spraying this can be a godsend as poor technique can lead to orange peel and other paint faults, but at least the paint will be suitable for rectification with the good old wet'n'dry paper. Use a rattle can white auto undercoat. Plan for perhaps eight or nine full wet coats of topcoat, rubbing out blemishes after the first few coats are dry. Carry on until you get the 'build' of paint you want (it will dry down an awful lot) and finish with a fine wet'n'dry, cutting compound, and wax polish.

I've had no problems touching up paint chips with Testor's bottles, red # 1103. It is a near perfect match. Good luck.
