Social gathering ??
Will you invite uncle George...He’s out now...Just got his new phone number...1800 BLOW ME...He normally finishes up in Auburn by 6 pm....
Haha that’s quite a joke considering the handouts going on right now! Amazing how newstart was ‘enough’ till the pollies kids needed it.
If you only pay attention to one coronavirus number, maybe this should be it http://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-04-10/coronavirus-data-australia-growth-factor-covid-19/12132478 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
The numbers as at 10pm last night... Total confirmed cases: 6,215. Total deaths: 54 (0.87%). New cases: 106.. The new case numbers are hovering around 100/day (confirmed - the actual infection load would be much higher, but this is the number that everyone who isn't a ning nong uses). If 5% of new cases require and ICU bed (so far, in Australia, the number has been lower) for an average of 10 days, that means that the current case rate would need 50 ICU beds. ICU capacity is normally around 2,500 beds, which is being stretched to about 5,000 (assuming they can be staffed). The maximum peak daily case load so far has been less than 1,000, which would need 500 beds. You can play around with the numbers, but even if I'm out by 100% on my estimates, we can deal with a lot more than what we've got so far. Let's see how the numbers look two weeks after Easter, but I think it will be time to relax restrictions soon.
Looks like the US is about to sail past Italy in total deaths...Almost 2000 deaths again last night...
Loving that chip on your shoulder. Gives me a good belly laugh. What's the death rate again? Dumb arse
I always felt it’s an over reaction.. there are more cases and death from influenza but never have been given the same attention and reaction.. but I’m enjoying this period as this suit my life style. ..
About as accurate as the Medical Journal of Australia saying three weeks ago that by April 5 our ICU wards would be over capacity...
Definitely rather be over than under - do you put in more or less fuel than you think you'll need for a trip? It's all a guessing game because this is a 'novel' virus - no one really knew how it was going to go. Hopefully, we can start winding back restrictions sooner rather than later. I also can't help wondering if Australia went more conservative because they remember Hendra virus (also bat-origin, but a LOT deadlier; luckily it was easily contained by shutting down the horse industry for a short while and it was self-limiting like Ebola).
