The vaccines are no more than 40% effective against it (see reports from Israel today) so nothing will stop it, apart from sealing people in their homes and delivering food. Zero covid is a fool's pursuit and will be abandoned, it's just a matter of how the premiers retreat from their stupid rhetoric.

By the way, the flu vax only offers about 40% too. I agree though that resistance is basically futile, zero infections is not ever possible. I’m guessing the numbers will continue to rise and lockdown will prove to be useless Vaccination is the only way back to some level of normality
Agreed, but I'm worried about the Australian public's ability to accept the fact that there will still be many cases even after we reach a good % of people vaccinated and have to open up again. The state Premiers, CHOs, and media have done such a great job of convincing (a lot of) people that ANY number of cases is really scary that how do we change that perception? How are they going to tell the average idiot that 200 cases per day is nothing to worry about when they are currently locking the place down for 2? I think that just saying "it's ok because 70% of people are vaccinated" is going to be a hard sell.
