It does look a little “severe”. There’s a hint of Hannibal Lecter there. But it could be the wearer, rather than the mask itself...
"Yesterday’s revelation that a senior public servant chose a security company based on them employing marginalised workers is a major clue as to why this virus has impacted Victoria so badly. Just scratch the surface & you will find an entire public service that is full of people that have been employed for reasons other than they were the best person for the job. It’s any wonder they have failed so spectacularly. "
Evidence is mounting that the failures in hotel quarantine has led to the deaths of many Victorians and a resurgence of the virus nationally. I wonder if there is case for those involved to be charged with manslaughter arising from negligence under the new Vic laws, and held liable for compensation. https://www.worksafe.vic.gov.au/tougher-laws-safer-workplaces
I think the main problem in Victoria is there is a lot of people not taking it seriously, (mostly young folk by the looks). The security guard issue should've been manageable. The revelation about people not isolating when positive is the real killer. I can't remember the figures but there was a similar test taken regarding people staying at home when positive up here and the numbers were astonishing in favour of Queensland!
All unravelling for Dan Andrews tonight. https://www.9news.com.au/national/neil-mitchell-coronavirus-victoria-daniel-andrews-is-responsible-for-hotel-quarantine-failures/8d377ba6-ef2b-42d7-9e02-c41148a8aad5 https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-11/coronavirus-committee-premier-daniel-andrews-hotel-quarantine/12545146
The ADF issue was critical to his credibility, he has none ..... but I don't think the private security companies should be getting away with this either .... penalise them out of existence along with the VIC govt .... how were they able to subcontract this out to Indian startups who are just scammers out for a quick buck ? Trust Victoria to fuch it all up again, just like they did 100 years ago .... we've learnt nothing from history
It's going to be interesting to one day look back and see who got it right. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-12/png-abandons-lockdown-resolves-to-live-with-coronavirus/12545602

Good lick Vic's if you have these drongo's amonst you.: A surfer in regional Victoria who travelled more than 140 kilometres to find better waves was among hundreds of people fined by police for breaching COVID-19 restrictions. The man, from the Surf Coast town of Torquay, made the long journey yesterday because there were "no waves on the east side", he told officers. He was fined $1652 for beaching the stage three coronavirus restrictions. Other cases included four people were caught driving in the south-west Melbourne suburb of Wyndham during curfew hours and told police they were out to buy cigarettes.
