There was a thread by a member Mellow letting us know that the coolant caps could be had for $10 from a company called Carrier Transicold with part number 58-04663-00. I tried this and had no luck the part number may have been changed.

Anyone know where to source cheap? I am sure it's on other cars and exact same part. I want to get a couple for me and my 360 buddy's as they go bad quite frequent.

    Thanks for any help.

I normally buy from Daniel at Ricambi America....but for a single item like that, I have found it at a reasonable price off Ebay....really, and the factory correct part. Agreed, they start leaking after only a few years time. Over the ten years I owned by 355 I bought three of them. ;) I have not replaced it on my Scud yet, but noted it is the exact same crappy one. Use search term like "Ferrari 360 radiator cap" Or "Ferrari 355 radiator cap" try a few, since they don't always include the 430 in listings. Been a while since I last bought one, but never paid more than $35 or so with shipping on Ebay.

Carrier is a huge A/C company, I believe Transicold is their truck division. I wasn't able to find out much info on that part, but IMHO, just buy from Ricambi and replace it every 2 years instead of needing multiple caps on hand. There's one on ebay right now, but it's from Singapore and it'll only save you a few bucks after shipping, and you have no idea who makes it or how long it will last. Used isn't an option on this part, it's a critical, high failure wear item. Just pony up the 50 bucks.

Bought two from local Carrier Transicold Dealer (Gateway) in Justice, IL just outside Chicago. $28.45 for both incl. tax. Manufacturer is MTA and stamped 1.00. Part number remains 58-04663-00.

To update the link with May 2017 purchase. The cap missing the elbow is from a 2003 360 Modena. 99% sure it's original. It was leaking and not holding pressure. It did not fail - I pulled the elbow out to inspect the seal. The new cap is what I purchased from local carrier dealer with packaging. You should be able to zoom in and see they're identical.

It's too bad we cant find some quality ones somewhere.

I buy those by the bag of 10 at a time because they go bad so often.

Wow. I do have to say it's a little ridiculous that a $150k car came with a horribly cheap plastic coolant cap that could take out an engine if one followed the maintenance schedule by the book.

Edit: do we even have a low coolant idiot light? I'm guessing no since I don't see any sensor in the reservoir and I found mine empty once.

I can do without warning lights. More false alarms than anything else. Just spend an extra dollar and make the caps reliable.

The two caps pictured - one is in Italian the other in English. My 08 430 has the cap with English. I believe this is the OEM cap on my car as it has 2000 miles on the clock.
    Did Ferrari use both caps?

Spoke to MTA about the caps. Now made in Brazil. They do not manufacturer in US.
They have sent me an Engineering drawing. Getting quote for MOQ. (minimum order quantity).

    Will keep you posted.

Tell them we'll happily pay an extra dollar if they make them last 4 years instead of 1 1/2 - 2.

Nice. I am in for a couple. How about the factory hose crimp, how do we
get those ? Prefer oem look, not hose clamp.....

look up Oediker clamps. You will need the proper clamping pliers or some end cutting pliers at a minimum to set them. Amazon sells both the clamps and the pliers as well as EBAY.

Ordered coolant caps. Exactly like the OEM cap on my 2008 F430 and that pictured in post 10 from Carrier. Writing in English. . Will have in 4 weeks. Once received, I will post if anyone is interested and pricing. Should be in the $10 range each for all Fchatters.

For the 360 guys, I am also working on caps with writing in Italian per OEM

I did a google search and found a Carrier retailer/trucking supply that sold them not too far away. They quoted me $12.92 plus WA ST sales tax (another 10.2%!). Still a bargain. I went through three of them with my F355. No issues with my Scud, and it appears to be original, based on the records I have. Probably worth me picking up a couple for spares.
