Hi everyone! Wish you all good health from down under during these difficult times globally.

I need some help please. I’ve purchased a building with my old man and we’re looking to park some cars there (only ours to begin with - Speciale, 993, GT4, M3). We’re wanting to let out the remaining dozen or so spaces to likeminded enthusiasts at a monthly rate and provide a ‘man cave’ to escape to in the weekends. Tinker, do some detailing, go for a drive, tell stories in the sun, include a beer fridge, car art, Weber BBQ etc.

‘Central car storage’ is a bit boring. I’m thinking a one word name/brand could be good. So far I’ve come up with German versions of ‘car parking’ as contenders (unfortunately the Italian translations don’t sound very good so only have Capannone representing so far).

    Parkhaus - Parking Garage
    Autolager - Car storage
    Capannone - Shed

Any other ideas welcomed! Thank you.

Personally I would avoid any reference to automobiles in a name, for security reasons anonyminity might be safer for all concerned. Looks like a very nice space by the way.

Yes I have thought this too. There won’t be any building signage whatsoever so it will just be a paper name for accounting purposes. I just want a ‘cool name’ for clients and branding purposes.

I have actually thought about taking it one step further and using misleading signage?? A low value item that no one would want to break into. I can’t think of a zero value item (to thieves at least) that requires warehouse storage though?

Security wise we’ll have a full automatic gate to the front carpark (which is enclosed by elegant screening fencing) the gate will be set to automatically close after 30 seconds. There will be two automatic bollards at the roller door, the door itself and one pedestrian door, a monitored alarm system and three high resolution security cameras.

    Thanks for your thoughts

The Kennels. The Stables. Bill's Place. Chuck's Shack. Jalopy Corner. The Wormpit.

I'm not sure my brainstorming is going anywhere. I'll regroup and come back with something better ;)

Edit: Palazzo. Palazzo Di what? Dunno. I'll get there though...

Like your style SmokeyDave! Thank you for your ideas.

I have been thinking about a foreign translation (perhaps Italian - obvs or German) of words that mean, safe, secure, warm, clean etc - you get the idea.

My pleasure. The only other one that has sprang to mind in the interim is 'The Chase Lounge', as a play on 'Chaise Longue', but I'm fairly certain I'm the only person that would raise a wry smile from it.

I wanted to think of something with 'Domus' but once the word popped into my head, I couldn't stop hearing John Cleese saying 'people called Romanes they go the house?' :D
