Hi I'm from France and I'm a member of the FerrariClub400. I'm looking for informations about the convertibles. Who practised these conversions (Pavesi, Straman, Rankl...) and how many cars have they done ?
Besides, I'd like informations too about the sunroofs we can find on Ferrari 400, particularly in the U.S.

    If you have any information...

I own a Cabriolet done in Europe by Pavesi. An incredible well done conversion. No unsightly reinforcements, all doors work and fit perfectly. The top works effortlesly, well balanced and very fitting for the overall design.

I've found on internet many pictures of cars with sunroofs, always in the US. Do you any informations in your historic files ? Who, When, Why (the sun...) ?
The same questions for the convertibles ? Who, When, cost, numbers of chassis, how many conversions for each transformer ?

Thanks Paul. I really like the first picture in post #9. The fairly flush rear deck looks good and can be seen elsewhere here on a gray car and a yellow car.

Wow! That's some collection of convertible photos! You even managed to include the yellow abomination with the body colored cooling fans behind the grill!

Do you have serial numbers for any of them?

Unfortunately I don't have the serial numbers of the cars. Maybe two or three. I will looking for them and post them later.
Flinch, I have more pictures of sunroofs. But It will take several days because I don't have my personal computer at the moment...

    Hi Paul,

I'm from France too, only I live in the UK, and I've got a 400i with a sunroof. This was a dealer option, the car left Italy without it, then it was taken from Maranello concessoinaires, the UK importer, to a company called Goldies, which did the work before delivery to the customer. It's a very professional job, with a little switch on the side near the driver's door. I have a copy of the original invoice mentioning the work. If you're interested in seeing what the car looks like, I've sent David Emin some pics of a recent meet, mine's the one in the middle.
