    John,
As you can imagine, these are hard to find. They were cast parts and were not structural enough for the application. The reason most of the fail is that people put too much stress on the part when closing their roof. There is a process where you make a rough adjustment to the screw then close the clamp and then make another adjustment to the screw for the final closure that helps to eliminate this problem.

If there is enough interest, I could make some of these parts, machining them out of a material that is stronger than casting so people won't have this problem again. It would involve some time and upfront expense, so I wouldn't want to do the work without knowing there is enough demand to make it worthwhile.

Seems like you would want one, anyone else?

    Thanks
    Ron Frohock

I had a local manufacturer make me a replacement part. If anyone needs one, please message me and I will provide you with the manufacturer's contact information.

They can be made from solid but there is a lot of work in it

They can be made from solid but it is getting an accurate set of drawings thats the issue.
The complicated bit is the curve on the top bit, unless you have a cnc mill.

Thanks for the information. My local manufacturer already made 2 of them for me out of aluminum 6061. He basically reversed engineered the part.

Hi Ron, I can always use a spare pair. You can always count on me for 2 if you generate more interest.

I'm in for a complete set - to include the latch and sliders if Ron is back to making a run. I should have pinged you years ago with your first batch, while mine were still good. Otherwise - I'll ping the MFG above (or just drive with top down all summer)

I’m in the process of having the latch bodies made and the mating piece that is assembled to the top of the wind screen.
Not an easy piece to machine but they will be made using a high strength aluminum and will be really robust. Stay tuned.
And I should mention that I have some Toggles if anyone needs them.

    Update:
I should have pricing in a week. I incorporated design enhancements that will help the latch body to be more robust. And I will be providing them with my proven Toggles.

Great - I'm hoping to get back on top of some of this "deferred" maintenance / little niggle items. This forum it he best for helping me figure it all out!

I would think just about anyone with a cab would want a set of these, including me. Its not a matter of if you will need them, but when.

    Hi Ron,

If it’s true that’s it’s only a matter of time, then I suppose I should ask for a pair too. Can you give me a ballpark price so I can give you a final answer?

Have a look at the more recent Mondial Roof Latch Slider thread. Can a mod please merge the threads?

I just found this great thread. Is it still possible to get a pair and have it shipped to Germany? Thank you in advance for any answer.
