I would avoid that, it's not really a safe and sound idea. Sure it can be done but i don't know of specialists.

Anythign can be done. Sourcing the parts cheap and you are half way there. I just bought a gallardo in the UK and am looking at converting it now.

Yes bought it, remapped ecu's and drove 1000 miles home. Shame about the snow, would have been more fun in the summer.

its not a case of "can it be done", but more a "should it be done"

there are way more lhd ferraris an lambos than rhd examples
a converted car is generally going to carry a stigma to it when it comes time to sell it on especially as with lhd as theres more choice around for buyers to consider (conversely a lhd to rhd conversion might actually be ok - as a buyer looking for rhd has less choice)

Great. Would love to see a topic on how the conversion would be going.

There are a lot of LHD to RHD converted F355's kicking around in the UK. Most of them where converted by Ferrari specialists Prosport-Ferrari years ago now when it was a financial benefit, maybe they can advise you on what would be the cost to go the other way now that the pound is getting close to Zimbabwe dollars value... :(

It's difficult to understand why you would want to do that. Most of the lhd Ferraris sold in the UK appear to cost about the same or perhaps a little less than rhd models, so buying a rhd car and adding the cost of converting it instead of buying a lhd model at the outset doesn't seem to make economic sense.

All the left hookers were snapped up by the Euro equipped, LHD country coustomers months and months ago, dare I say it, there may be a time not too long from now where LHD cars here will carry a premium. An evil thing irony.

    Warmest regards

The credit crunch put paid to all of that!

When was the last time you spotted a LHD vehicle in the UK? Let alone a LHD Ferrari. Most have already been shipped out to the Eurozone where they are worth considerably more against their LHD stock. There is also much less stigma of them being imports because virtually all of the said LHD's came originally from the Eurozone anyway! They just got imported back again now they are cheaper against their home market.

The truth is LHD's are now worth considerably more than RHD's, even in the UK! Oh, the irony of it all. Like I said in a previous posting ever since the pounds value diminished against the Euro currency the UK cars have looked like seriously good value to mainland Euro buyers so this kind of this will happen all the more often, that is RHD to LHD conversions. A booming niche I think, just like it was in the UK all those years ago...

There always seems to be some lhd Ferraris (priced in Euros) for sale on Pistonheads, although perhaps not as many now as there were a few months ago.

The pound really is the Zimbabwe dollar. I bought a Gallardo in the UK 40% cheaper than the mainland continent. It is RHD because all the LHD cars were snapped up long ago or do not hang around very long at all.

I was thinking about getting a LHD converstion but am really used to RHD now and will just drive it like this.

If you are looking for a cheaper LHD now look at Sweden, their currency has been hammered against the euro and they have sensible registration taxes, so cars there now are a bargain.
