I've been inactive on this forum for a while, but it's one of my favorite places to drop in. I think the Mondial is a favorite of mine because it's not too costly to keep running and provides a great driving experience. The people I've met with the Mondial are always polite and friendly. As for the meet in PA, it's a drive but I'll be a possible, even though I'm not on the list of invitees. Maybe I can scare up a few other Mondials in the area and we can make a train.
Brandon and DocMirror, of course you are welcome. Ted, add them please. As the honorary host of Mondialpalooza 2013, I have sooooooo many great ideas in the making for all of you! As we get closer, I will let you in for a few of the surprises I have planned. I think I can get discount passes to Hershey Park for you and your entire family. I'll just need a head count once we pick a date. There will be other activities galore. There will be a welcoming happy hour, a casino night, possibly golf, a drive, a brunch, a pool party, spa activities, a group dinner, and another drive in the works. Lots of great times ahead fellas. All you have to do is show up. And in typical Mondial fashion, the entire family is welcome. There is plenty of room for our budget conscious Mondial friends to even camp out on my property in Woodstock fashion for the event. For a top shelf experience for our Mondial friends, the Hotel Hershey is place to stay. It books out early during the summer months, so once we pick a date, please make your reservations. There are many other reasonable places to stay close by as well.
Just as a reminder... Honorary guest Joe Z. would have his former Mondial there as it's now mine and is 3k further in fun since October. about half of that with my 6 yr-old on board. At this rate it might need a major before coming up for the festivities. 3 guesses as to where it goes.... First two don't count.

C - Charles - CT I'd like to attend. Since we'll know the date well in advance I should have no problem scheduling other things around it. Good incentive to get my car sorted out too
Jay, Great ideas. I'll pm you towards the end of the week to go over some details and start to sculpture a face to our get together. Personally, Hotel Hersey sounds great, as soon as we firm a date, I'll contact them for a group rate. Everyone, If you have other ideas, please make suggestions. Post or Pm Joe, Mike or myself.
My 2 cents for the post 70 graphic, I really like the upper left. The other two are a bit too abstract for me. Also, that's a match to my model, early cab.

Soucorps list from post #68 was pretty good, especially the Antique Car Museum in Hershey, the Rolls/Bentley Museum, and of course I would want to go to Joe Zaffs recommendation of the Simone museum. Hershey Gardens. This sounds beautiful, especially at the time we would be visiting. Hershey Theatre, this sounds great too. Hersheys chocolate world, how do I not visit there on my first visit to Hershey! Troegs Brewing Company probably I would pick this over the Vineyards. Maybe as Ferrari owners, we are supposed to visit a winery. I do enjoy visiting wineries, but there is something more down to earth about a micro-brewery than a vineyard, and something about the Mondial group that is unpretentious. Honestly, I would enjoy either a winery tour, or visiting the brewing company. All the ideas sound great though, and I recognize that I am not necessarily picking the family-oriented attractions. I know that I would enjoy almost all of the ideas listed here. Really, there seems to be more to do than I had anticipated. I am not sure I would be able to drive to Hershey from Calgary (though I would like to), so I might have to fly.
Here are a local's $0.02. Must do's: Hershey Park Chocolate World Al Fresco dining on the outdoor patio at the Hotel Hershey Hershey Spa Troeg's Brewery (I'm good friends with Julie and John Trogner) - Great microbrewery Goodman's home- Home base for all activities and place for kids to play when not at park. Mi casa su casa. Should do's: Golf - There are more golf courses in central PA per capita than any other part of the state for a reason. Antique Auto Museum in Hershey - really neat place. Would be a perfect place to stop on one of our drives. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racetrack- New small town casino, but great place to watch the trotters and have a really nice inexpensive meal in front of a wall of glass facing the track. Would be a lot of fun drive to there and back. Only 15 min away. They also have a decent steakhouse. Shouldn't do: Wineries - Fun but really lousy local wines. Period. Hershey gardens are nice, but can pass easily on them. And I love gardening. Difficult to do's: Simone Museum, while I've heard is awesome, is a full 90 min away from Hershey. I suggest another time when we are gathering in Philly, not Hershey.
Jay, The Simeone Museum is the kind of thing a true car nut will only have a chance to see once in a lifetime. I know of no other collection of important race cars in the United States. It is epic. People travel from around the country to see this place...90 minutes is nothing. Here is a list of the cars on display: http://simeonemuseum.org/the-cars If you want to see the actual cars raced by the likes of such icons as Sterling Moss, you are not going to find it elsewhere. They even have the mythical "spector" 1964 Shelby Daytone Cobra Coupe!!! to say nothing of the GT40's that beat Ferrari at Le Mans and the legendary Porsche 917! We could make a day trip to Philadelphia. Take them on some of the most incredible roads in Chester County. I would even host the entire crew at my home for a barbecue afterwards. Just putting it out there.
Please put me on the list to attend. I can't totally commit to the dates but I will try to get the time off. Thanks, DavidJ
I love the idea of back roading through Chester County to get there. That will definitely add at least an hour to the drive. Maybe the wives and kids can go to Hershey Park and the guys head to the museum. It's at least a half day adventure for the guys coming in, but between the drive and the museum, it may be worth exploring. And someone might let you sit in and possibly drive a Mondial again! I know its the Simeone Museum. I can't spell. I rotated through neurosurgery with Dr. Simeone many years ago. Great guy. By the way, I can't get the link to work. This does. http://simeonemuseum.org/

Please add me as CD. Right now I'm not sure if I'll drive up or trailer the car instead. OEM windshields are NLA and 2000 miles of interstate is pretty risky.
You also have the Amtrak autotrain as a good option from FL. Approx 2 1/2 hrs from Virginia to Hershey PA. A much more reasonable drive from there than FL.
