In my experience, the biggest difference in noise level comes from hi-flow cats. So if you change just the back boxes you should have a slightly elevated noise level without being too obnoxious. The x-pipe only helps in the high range, although to be honest I am unable to guess whether a car has an x-pipe or not just by listening to it. It's probably the most over-rated part in my opinion, if your car is already equipped with an H-pipe (and it is). Hi-flow cats can really take the car to new levels in terms of noise, so that's probably what you dont want to do.

Hi, I’m in the same situation as you were. Did you go ahead and replace the exhaust system with a Capristo? What’s it like?

I have Capristo exhaust and x-pipes on my 2012 FF … sound is AMAZING!!! Also added Novitec springs. Package makes a huge difference in my enjoyment!

Thank you. I decided to keep the exhaust and install after I get close to the 55,000 mileage and can no longer extend the warranty which is likely to be fairly soon at the rate I’m driving. I’d love to hear your exhaust if you don’t mind uploading a video. Is it too Loud?

Decals definitely are different, not seen that before. I like them, almost looks like a partial wrap on the back.

I’ve decided I’m going to go for Capristo rear exhaust and X-pipes on my Lusso. And also the Capristo valve switch. It’s a lot cheaper than Novitec, so if I don’t like it I haven’t lost so much cash, but I’ve also read here that it generates a much lower pitch noise than Novitec which I think I’d prefer.

I put an FI exhaust on my Lusso and love it. It’s plenty loud enough.

as far as the vinyl… not a fan. As long as you love it, that’s all that matters.

TBH I think you need to go 200 cell cats to really make a difference….you’ll get some nice sound gain but the cats are the big game changer….

    What gilly said.

The FF/Lusso back boxes are already very good.
Adding an X-pipe makes almost no difference to a V12. The whole X-pipe thing started on the V8s as an attempt to reclaim the sound of the 355 in the 360 and 430 engines but is of no relevance to a V12 de to the firing orders and the harmonics generated in the two halves of the exhaust system.

Messing around with back boxes and x pipes alters the tuning and resonances but doesn't do much to alter the system pressure.

The V12 sounds are liberated when you alter the pressure with high flow cats. 200 cell so you don't throw any CEL lights.

If you do a search for the posts by @Natkingcolebasket69 on the evolution of his Kline system, you'll see how the sound doesn't change much with valves, backboxes and X-pipes but comes alive with the 200 cell cats.

    All great info from ANOpax….

I was told way back that it was 200 cats or nothing. I will say you will need O2 sensor spacers or it may throw codes. I put it all on and was back and forth with CELs before the spacers. Since then no issues.

The mod with cats is an incredible sound and you’ll never use the radio again…..

Definitely not too loud! I also gave the switch so can keep the valves closed when I want (though I seldom do). Don’t have a video but I’ll work on it!

The wheels look so much better after the Novitech springs too
