Colorado Grand Rally

I saw some of the cars gathered yesterday up in Vail. Off the top of my head there were:

Several Maserati birdcages
Alfa 8C (possibly Monza) with Scuderia badging
Another Alfa 8C or 6C racer
Couple of 8 liter Bentleys
Several Mercedes gullwings
Several Allards
Ferrari 166
A really rare black and silver ferrari, possibly a 410 SA, or a one off Ghia body
Another black 410 SA I think
Ferrari 250GT
Alfa Guilia SS
Alfa Sprint GT
Aston Martin DB4
Bugatti Type 36
Alfa Alfetta 159 racer (I think)
Several Porsche 356s
Jaguar C-type
Jaguar XK120 or XK150

And several others I either didn't recognize or don't remember due to my head swimming. Several guys were there working on their cars getting them ready. They were busy, but very nice to us mortals. It was a breathtaking array of machines, and not all were even there yet from what I heard.

I have been able to park free in the public parking at Lion's Head where the show is. Lower levels are covered.

Yes, head to the very lowest level of the parking structure. It is generally less crowded.

Thanks for the tip. Weather looks great. I am planning on coming up with the group. Anyone know of race gas or ethanol free 93 octane in the Vail area? Might have to bring a little can with me to make it back home

I am not aware of any place Mike.

 

I'll bring a little 111 to spike some pump gas with to make it home. Have they sanded the passes yet?

Everyone got soaked yesterday in Dillon! Still had a great time shuttling people to the boats even though not too many people were in the mood! Seemed like a lot of Colorado people this year!

The white 250 GT Alloy Boano is #0609 GT of Rob Kauffman.

While it was rainy and foggy in Denver today insects were being killed in the Colorado high country on the way from Aspen to Vail.
